It's not called The Tail of the Friendly Kitty Cat.

P.S. I was not on this trip, but Vito and Andrew of www.ipmcsfl.com were in the car at the time. Everyone is ok, thankfully.

(omg) glad to know everyone is ok. what happened?

I'm sure Vito will come on here and explain better, but from what I gather it was quite dark and they were not going fast, just the right combination of factors to induce a rollover. I'm still short on the details since I wasn't able to attend, but the club cleaned up at NOPI, taking a 2nd and 2 3rds in the 3 categories we entered.

I saw the videos, they weren't going slow.

He slipped off the edge of the road, and I think went up an embankment and over.

The car's pretty hammered, I'd guess a total loss.
Then again, both people in it are ok, so there's no real loss. :)

This happened last Thursday night bro, there was no video. I'm sure this isn't the first time it's happened, but the car in this post is not the one in whichever video you were watching.

Ken, there are 2 videos of the crash. The first is in-car that was being shot by Andrew and the second is behind/chase style being shot by JCell out of mazpro's car while they were following behind.

I was driving ahead but I have "pulled away" from Vito (the crashed MSP). Actually, it was more like he had slowed down to make room between me and himself and thus my car has disappeared from the view of both cameras.

Foolish and other Georgia people had in fact watched both videos at Rick's (redwagon02) house on Saturday after NOPI.

Also, I am going to post this right away, the videos will not be released so don't bother asking. Georgia people were the only ones lucky to see this and nobody will ever see this outside our club.

This happened on the Tail of the Dragon (US129 out of Robbinsville, NC heading into TN). This actually happened about 4 miles into Tennessee. The insurance has been contacted and we are all assuming the car is a total loss. I do not know yet if it has been confirmed by his insurance. The car was towed somewhere into Tennessee.

Ooh BURN!!

No, I'm just kidding. Clearly, you didn't know there was a video.

I stand corrected and I'm sorry for jumping on you Foolish. We'd been discussing it on our forum and no one made mention that there was a video, let alone 2.

*hangs head in shame*

No problem, Mace. :D
No shame in not knowing.

It's not called The Tail of the Friendly Kitty Cat.

BTW, that's funny as Hell!

our fault, you'll see it in due time.

Well these things can happen when you don't have much experience (if any?) driving the Dragon at night. Glad to see both people are okay. It could have been much worse, considering the level of drop offs around those roads.

yeah, it was a scary moment, but they r ok and that's all that really matters, the car, regardless how beautiful it is, can be replaced

yeah, the car ended up about 1 foot from the edge, we shined some light into the drop and couldn't c it end, this was done with a VERY bright light

he had some experience, he had done the dragon last year, i didn't which i sy I didn't drive it and ended up being camera man in the chase car behind the msp

I've seen way too many stories about people sliding off the side and dying. I know there are peole around Knoxville that have driven the road probably over 20 times and they won't ever go at night. I'm sure when Vxfilmer1000 sees this thread he will chime in as he lives all of 5 minutes from the Dragon. I bet you wouldn't be able to get him to drive it at night either.

I have to say it's pretty scary out there at night. you have to take it easy and go with more cars. never go alone, even in daytime.

it was very scary - im andrew the passenger in the car... it was a rude awakening and goes to show u all should wear ur seatbelts period, they save lives and ive rethought the way i drive and my future i suffered a minor head injury and im fine currently - gonna go to the chiropractor to get my body checked out im just happy were both ok

I'm glad you guys are ok, too. It was good meeting you all the other night. Wouldn't have been much of a party if anyone had gotten hurt or killed!

Any word on the status of the car?
