okay so i bought a 2006 ms6 with 35 k on it and i absolutley love it, i however took it to the track and did absolutly horrible the track is a eight mile and i ran a 9.8 as my best time which is pathetic, i turn the traction control off when i race but the car burns out like crazy!!?? i am used to fwd so idk what to think about it im just really irrated i thought having a awd car i would do great off the line but the car spins insane! even when i am on the streets if i punch it in first it spins through first and half of second, like i said dk much about awd but i know it shouldnt be doing that, so guys....wth is wrong with my ms6?!?!?

help!!

burns out like the tires spin which i consider would be awesome, or burns the clutch? or do you rev it to redline when you shift because what you could be considering the simulated feeling of spinning tires which again in a speed6 would be awesome to me, but do you just not go anywhere? because the stock shifting points are at 5800 rpm. i also would not launch past 4500rpm. and i would slip the clutch for a one mississippi and then marrionette it back to 2nd.

no the tires spin!!! wayy tooo much! as soon as i hit it in first gear at any rpm the tires start spining then i "scratch, bark" into second gear when shiffting at 6500rpm, when trying to launch i spin the tires like crazy and other awd cars i have driven DO NOT do that, i am wondering wth is wrong with the car it shudnt be doing that?!

It sounds like you're shredding your clutch.

If you're shifting at 6500 to 2nd, you're over-revving for starters which is costing you time. Depending on the rev level when you release the clutch into 2nd gear and subsequently 3rd and 4th gear it sounds like the clutch disc is spinning on the face of the flywheel. Given the amount of miles on your car and the fact that you just purchased the car it sounds like the clutch was pretty heavily worn before you got it. Thus, it's not gripping the way you would expect it to.

The above is a lot more likely than you owning the only Mazdaspeed 6 to come off the production line on steroids.

i still do understand, why would i be burning out soo much off the line? a guy with a evo9 MR saw me race and didnt believe the car was awd because it burned out soo much! ughhh im soo pissed!

exactly. Unless this thing is highly modified, there's no way the stock power is enough to spin all 4 tires LOL If it's got 35k miles on it (with the stock tires still on) they're toast. Time for new rubber dude.

is it all 4 tires spinning? or just the front? something could be messed with with the torque splitter and not shooting power to the back wheels thus trying to put all the power to the front ones. cause the ms3 spin like crazy in first if the dont feather off the launch. and can also do the same in first from a roll

are they AAA tread and Y rated? are they summer tires? even baldish tires dont spin if they are the right kind. trust me. im on my 5th set. they may chirp but this car grips like a champ 24/7.

i am not sure i will have to look at it when i get off of work, see thats what i mean all the vids i saw of the ms6 it holds traction like crazy but all mine does is burnout like crazy! its sooo annoying!! i mean the tires arent like balder then hell but they arent greatt either! wtf? im sooo pissed!

That burning smell may be coming from your wallet soon.

I think ms3action is on to something here. What you are describing seems like a mechanical problem. If you are indeed spinning the tires (and not just burning the clutch as previously mentioned) then I would suspect some sort of major failure of the AWD System. It is my understanding that you can damage the drivetrain with a WOOT launch from more than 4000. Youre 6 should have that much grip. Seems like you are lucky you haven't done more damage (judging from your own description). Who shifts at 6800? The car looses power after 5700. Get it to a dealer before the damage gets worse. Good luck.

like i said i am not use to awd or these cars i just bought it this week so i figured it would be the same as driving it like any other car, my 05 rsxtype-s redlines at 8400 so.... yeah i am going to take it to the dealership and see what is wrong with it this coming week, i think there might be something wrong with the awd system as well........s***

Ok, I read this thread and I'm going to try and give you the best advice, here's a few things though:

1 - What size/kind of tires are you running? I think, like everyone else said, you might be on crappy rubber. Spinning the tires in our car isn't cool, but a big waste of time.

2 - There is power lost in several areas. First, I'd look into a rear motor mount. Second would be a set of stiffer springs to help reduce the bucking of the car from front to rear. Also, a replacement rear diff. brace would be my last suggestion if you choose to continue with dragging your car.

3 - Launching this car is a challenge. You can't just dump the clutch and go. Let it slip at about 4000rpm and go from there. Practice it.

Sounds like its not just a single problem that's holding you back. Hopefully this clears up your situation.

sounds like the rear dif isnt kickin in! I launch at around 4500 and the most ive ever got is maybe a slight spin and maybe a churp in the back. Mine will actually stand still for like a split second. then itll take off like a rocket.

Have you tryed just leaving TCS on ? Youll boost a little lower in 1st but besides that its about the same.
