Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the Mazda scene. Recently got myself a black GT w/ Tech Pkg. Someone plowed into my 06 Jetta 2.0T. Volkswagen, in all their brilliance, offered a crappier version of the Jetta for 2007 and I refused to buy it just on principle.
So I sought out another quality vehicle that offered the same (if not more) features than my dubb.
That brought me to the CX-7. I am loving this vehicle. The leather feels better than VW's, it's got a touch-screen NAV (something VW has failed to produce to date - but its supposedly on the way). It's also got HIDs which VW deleted from the 2.0T package for 07. 4x4, more cargo room, and much more of an "oooh" factor -this CX-7 It's great.
The only thing I'm not used to is the lack of aftermarket support. I'm sure it's partially due to the fact that the CX-7 is a relatively new vehicle... but aftermarket stuff was on the VW scene before the new body style was even released. I can't help myself - I love to tinker and personalize my cars.
So far I've replaced the rear license plate lights with hyper-white a-la-Lexus. I've added the Turbo badge from the RDX, and replaced the interior map lights (what a pain that was!).
Next I'm looking to upgrade the Xenons to 6000k to reduce the yellow that the curve of the projector creates when looking at the lights dead-on.
My question for you all (finally) is... I've seen a lot of pictures online of CX-7s with some pretty interesting fog lights. They look a lot like they might have LEDs in them, and have that milky look like the rear turn signals. (So happy to have yellow turn signals instead of red!) Does anyone know where to get these? Are they plug and play? All I've been able to find on the web/ebay are the chrome strips for the US fog lights. They're nice, but not what I'm going for. Any help would be awesome! TIA
And oh yeah... umm... ZOOM ZOOM, lol
