No more 03 Shift knobs???

Yeah so the leather on my 03 shift knob is all streched out for some reason
and just falls to the bottom of the shifter.
I take it to the dealer along with some other problems.....
anyways they say the Sparco knobs are no longer available. Only the Mazdaspeed knob. I looked at it and I really dont like the mazdaspeed knob over my sparco. Its a larger diameter and just doesnt feel right.
Is there anything I can do to get another Sparco knob?

The Sparco Techno knob is the same thing.. it's just really hard to find the one with leather wrapped around it... oh yea... its going to be a shiny chrome like finish instead of this nice brush aluminum we have... =T

hmm, I like mine better, but I guess I have a biased opinion...and are you sure, call around to some other dealers, see what they say

I don't think it's brushed aluminum, mine has black wearing through where the paint has worn off.

just took mine back to the dealer yesterday and they are puttin the mazdaspeed shifter on it, i havent drivin with it but i like it. im goin to pick it up in an hour, its a little fatter but i'll deal

You'll get used to the 03.5 knob !!! And I personally think that a MazdaSpeed's accessorry belong more in our MazdaSpeed than a Sparco's one (hi) !!!

This was another thing that i was getting ready to have the dealer replace.I hope they can still get them because parts are supposed to be available for cars for 7 years after they are produced.It is some sort of law,but i dont know the specifics.I know I wont settle for a Mazdaspeed knob when that is not what the car came with from THE FACTORY.They better be ready for me,cuz I will give 'em hell if they dont have access to it anymore.My leather just all of the sudden a few days ago ,decided it wasn't going to stay on the knob any more.

a number of users have their Sparco knobs go bad the same way, and a member here had the dealer reimburse him for the knob of his choice.

I can get the Sparco knobs in a similar style (the techno style) from my supplier
in black, red, chrome, or blue finish :

for $50 plus shipping.

no i got Mazdaspeed pedals.... doesent bother me that the 2 dont match.. il ike the way the pedals feel, and the way the shifter feels too...

Hmmm, strange. I like the MAZDASPEED knob, it fits better in my hand (I haven't tried the sparco, but I have driven with skinny shift knobs). That's one of the things test drivers complained about when they first tested the MSP; the knob was too small; well, Mazda fixed it.
