Where are the CX-9? I just called about 5 dealers in the Long Island area for a CX-9, touring, in Blue with the Moon roof package and there are none around and also there are no black ones too. I was told that they may get some in next month, are in August, which will be the 2010. What can I do? Nothing. Anyone in upstate N.Y. or N.J have them? Let me know.

I called Schwartz today and was giving a price of $29,850.00. Not worth the trip from N.Y. for that price. I think I going to wait or I'm looking at Subura Forester Limited for $26,785.00 With the 170 hp 4 cyclinder engine. I drive it today and was very happy with the drive and power. What to do?(uhm)

30k for what trim level?

If 30k for a 40kGT, you would be insane not to get.

FYI. Subaru has nothing on any Mazda

Just build it and search on Mazda's website? If it exists you will be able to find it yourself. No need to call stealers.

In the Boston area it seems like the GT inventory is on the decline. Lots of Tourings and Sports to be had though.

I think the combo of a great CUV, great value and Mazda's willingness to drop their pants on GT pricing has led to them moving inventory .

The trim model, was for the touring, with moon roof package, for the sum of $29,850. That from the N.J dealer, but in N.Y. I getting price of $29,850 to $29,450 for the same CX9< But no one has it in my color (Blue). Subura Forester, Limited with roof rail and bars, bumper molding was quote $26,850. It's not the turbo one. Gas on the Forester was quote 22 thur 26 mpg. and it's take reg.

It's simply 2 different vehicles. Perhaps you should cross-shopped bet. the Forester and CX-7 instead. You'll find the prices to be very competitive and maybe the CX-7 would be a more attractive alternative.

Though one can argue if you can find a loaded 08 GT for $30-$32k, you can probably get the Sport model for ~$23k or less which makes it a better deal than the Forester if you need 3 row seating and a much larger footprint.

I remember last year when I was shopping for the 08 GT, I read (though unconfirmed) someone claimed he got an 08 Sport model for $21k. I didn't pursue it further as I need the GT assist package for the power liftgate and I can't live w/o HID. IIRC, 08 Sport and Touring doesn't have HID.

Touring does not say much. Was it AWD, I would hope so since you are comparing it to a fugly Forester. You are way better getting a super loaded CX7 since that is more in line with size of the Subaru.

6k off the CX9 is good especially since it is not the highline GT.

Seriously you need to compare apples to apples and CX9 versus anything Subaru is more like apples to watermelons.

Let us know how you make out

You are 100% right on apples with apples, The cx 9 I'm looking at is with AWD

The CX9 is far above the Subaru in appearance, and quality. I know the quality of Subaru and have just been introduced with the quality of Mazda. Seriously go after the CX7 loaded GT..

Or goto edmunds' website to build a vehicle with your choice of options and let the dealers contact(e.g. quote) you instead and then go from there.

That's how I got my 08'GT from Great Neck mazda which so happens to be about 2-3 miles from my place.

watch those websites that offer that because even if the dealer does not have what you want they will call and bother the hell out of you. Best is to search the inventory of dealers and then demand outrageous pricing!

Good luck with your choice, thou I find it very difficult to compare a cx-9 vrs a 170hp forester...... wow.

I know where richardd is coming from. I'm looking for the same package and I'm getting outragoeus quotes. last one was for $30,600 for a awd touring with moonrf/bose pkg. Great deals are not to be had in the ny/nj area. Upstate is not any better. This model is getting rare and the dealers know it. I'm thinking about a tribeca now, or might take the bite and get *****. I plan on having this car for a while. If I didn't have a trade I would go to boston in a heart beat. You guys got great deals there. I wonder if a base GT would be cheaper. Talk about bad timing.

I found the one that I looking for the sum of $29,790, Blue touring, with moon roof package. What do you think. I maybe gone tomorrow,(squinty)

Talk about bad timing.

Bad timing is when I bought my 2008 CX-9 GT in April, 2008. I had to fight hard for six grand off the MSRP.

Two months later folks were getting ten grand off the sticker with little or no resistance.

It still bothers me on occasion.

one thing that still strikes me strange is the 4k mfg to dealer incentive which is what people get when they claim 9 or 10k off MSRP but while the incentive is to help the dealer unload, why would the dealer (who gets it all PERIOD) give it all up. I can tell you in NJ they are not as a friend of mine went down to look and the best they gave him (after 3 hours) was 1000 below tissue plus the 1500 rebate and 3rtd party financing at 3.75/60 months. He took it (great deal) but that dealer now just got 3k on top of his normal net.

I guess if dealers just want to dump and make minimal they are doing it but I still can't fathom why since 7000 of sticker is INSANE and anyone turning that down is crazy to hold out for another 2-3k when there is a good chance the dealer will say no. Wish I lived where the dealers are dumb like a stone and give away money.

I don't think they're dumb, just hurting a lot more than in areas where apparently people are willing to spend more than they have to.

The 4k is in lieu of financing. I had a dealer explain that to me. Only if I come in with with my own cash. Even though it was third party they might not get the dealer incentive. I just had a great dealer quote with an additional 1k off being the end of the month, but could not get to jersey in time. Called this morning and was told the addtional rebate was expired. Might happen again in July. Maybe this car is not meant to be, or it was too good to be true.Maybe there's a forth of july sale somewhere in rip off ny. AHH
