has anyone done it?
any issues with the downpipe fitting correctly?
there is one for sale locally, just wondering if it will work, looks just like the GT28 forsale on SU and Protege garage..

I would thinkso too.the only other things I want to find out its if anyone makes a fitting for those 2 bolt flanges, how laggy it is, though I would imagine its not too bad being ball bearing and only .64ar, and if there is anyone who has done it

i believe people have done it, but i think it needs a different way to mount the WGA, and the OEM wastegate is 14.7 psi versus our 6psi. im almost certain that 2-bolt adapters exist

I just found the adapters on atp and a 6psi wg specifically for the gt28. I think I will be picking this turbo up maybe tonight

what is the seller looking to get? if its a good price i would just go for it, otherwise id consider waiting it out

Is it a gt28r off of a skyline? Those turbos are great turbos, I had one on my sr 240 and I loved the performance at a good price. They are good for 20lbs but run out of juice quickly after that. Make sure you get the adapter plate, or take the compressor cover off and grind the flange down to work with the charge pipe, I did this to work on my 240. Good luck if you decide to do that

Thanks thats what i was looking for more or less. its water and oil cooled right? yes its the turbo off of the skyline. Can i put a gt28rs compressor housing, or just any one that doesnt have those goofy flanges? or like i said i found adapters...

I dont know if a disco potato housing will work because of the size of the inducer, I think the 28rs is slightley bigger. Yes it is water and oil cooled. Use the adapter because it is cleaner. I had to do some work to get the intake to work. I though you were talking about the discharge from the compressor going to the i/c, but i forgot they have a 2 bolt intake pipes. Its gonna be cheaper to just use the adapter in the long run. I drove my gt28r at 17lbs for a couple of years and it never gave up on me, still spooled awesome the day I sold it. Good luck man, hope this helps

yea that does thanks a bunch man. im going to look at it in a few hours pretty excited. Gonna do that, FMIC, anc hopefully steedspeed mani and corksport S/J pipe all at the same time. Probably use Microtecth LT10.

the turbo isnt a skyline turbo its the sr20 turbo which is a t28 from the s14 silvia. and microtech is a pain in the ass go haltech sam at *************.com can help steer you in the right direction.

i wasnt able to fit my GT28 in my car due to the placement of the wastegate. and it was off of a skyline too. i was just gonna go EWG with that turbo but then came up on a killer deal on a gt25 instead so i just used that

Yea i was considering haltech from Sam, might go that route.

A GT28R is a ball bearing t28 and came on Skyline rb25det i believe. t28s did come on sr20 but I don't think there was ever a gt28r on a stock sr. I know my gt28r was from a skyline, I bought it brand new from Nissan Japan.

the gt28 or t28 came on the silvia s14 i know this for a fact that i owned 1 in high school. the t28 from the s14 is equalivient to a gt2871r. im getting the haltech 8 something from sam in november thank god lol no more damn MAF!

i thought the gt2860r came on skylines, and the gt2560r came on the sr20s. ill ask one of my nissan buddies to be sure.

I thought the S15 t28 was the same as gt2871. Even then the s15 t28 has a smaller intake and has a 2 bolt flange verses a 3 in intake on the gt2871r. We need a write up sticky on turbos and different series of turbos and pix. This would help mitigate some of the confusion

EDIT: GT is ball bearing and T is journal bearing. I should have stated that first.
