Nice Exhaust System for 1.6???

Hey was just browsing Cat-Back systems and was wondering what would be the best to use with the 1.6? Was looking at the Vibrant and the Magnaflow. What do you guys think? This can also be used as future reference for others.

with the 1.6, i would get the magnaflow. (the MP3 model) its a 2.25 system, which is probably a little small for the 2.0, but would probably work great on a 1.6

none of them will truely bolt on because the JDM exhaust is a tad bit shorter (less than an inch) and the flange is angled a bit differently

but I'd recommend the racing beat otherwise... it's 60mm

I have the Bosal Exhaust from protegegarage.com. It has a deep sound but sounds "ricey" when you start to hit about 3500RPM. I also have the OBX headers too. The problem with that is that the header and the catback exhaust doesn't meet so you have to fab the space in between. I am having exhaust leak problems, but there is my two cents.

The header I got for $160 on ebay and then I got the exhaust for $519. The midpipe I had someone fab up was $250

ive been looking @ corksport, how well will it fit? im no good at welding and s***, but how well will it fit my 1.6? im looking for an easy fix.

I didn't see anything for the 1.6L. All I saw was for the 2.0L and the MSP header.

oh yeah hayame ive heard is decent...used to be on ebay. I think Hayame is like a company for all mazdas. ive seen them make parts for the rx8.

so the exhaust system for the 1.6 is the same as 1.8 and 2.0 , except for the diamater ? just want to confirm this

anyone knows if one of those kits has a 3.5 inch tip

well i called the dealer and its the same exhaust pattern and mounting points for the 1.6, 1.8 & 2.0 protege 99-03
