(3) Sixty-five miles per hour on a highway on the federal interstate system which is inside of an urbanized area of 50,000 population or more, provided that such speed limit is designated by appropriate signs;
subsection c says
(c) The maximum speed limits set forth in this Code section may be altered as authorized in Code Sections 40-6-182, 40-6-183, and 40-6-188.

now look at up 40-6-183
on subsection d says
because u were in college park, this is a joint jurisdiction
(d) Not more than six alterations as authorized in this Code section shall be made per mile along a street or highway, except in the case of reduced limits at intersections. The difference between adjacent limits shall not be more than ten miles per hour, except for reductions for school speed zones, which may be not more than 20 miles per hour when a warning sign is placed 700 feet in advance of the point at which the speed reduction is required.

ask to make sure that the alternation of the speed limit was not more then 6 times because they had to make at least one due to the fact what b-3 said.

request college park for their city ordience governing the speed limits..


also make sure u ask what local ordience u broke because it is checked on the ticket but no ordience is really marked on ur ticket. if there is no law that says there should be a decrease in 10mph in college park, u are off free. because 40-6-181 b-3.

I feel ya man. I got my first ticket in 2 years the other day. 61 in a 30. I had never been on this road before and I was just cruising in the 3S....topped a hil and threw it into N so I was coasting down...right at the bottom was smokey pointing his laser gun at me.

he made sure to mention how "fast and furious" I was in my bone stock 3S....I wanted to beat his ass into the ground....he was a tiny fella.

Yeah, it sucks. State Patrol got me doing 90 in a 55 a few months ago. Luckily my lawyer got it reduced to 75 in 55, but it cost me. The whole time the cop was saying s*** like, "so Mr. Speedracer, any idea why I pulled you over". Never said my name, what a jackass. There was not another car on the road besides him and I and he tried to tell me he could bust me for racing. Could not figure that one out.

i did 110mph by a cop driving on 85 north right before jimmy carter, i didnt see him on the far right side, but he saw my ass flying by. got pulled over but did not get a ticket cus he coulnd not prove how fast i was doing, gave me s*** for 30mins. first thing he said to me was "Way to go speedracer, your going to jail" and he asked "whats your major malfunction?" he told me im lucky cus he didnt have his ticket book with him, wich is a croc of s*** only thing he could possible of ticketed me for is reckless driving but i was not changing lanes at all stayed in my lane till the blue lights were behind me.

Mine was 85 north also, just past Pleasantdale Rd. I guess that is a bad place to speed. Especially in a bright blue or yellow car...Duh...

Those Ying's are a crazy breed. I had one chase me down and follow me from 75S in marietta.. to 285E...to Ashford Dunwoody ... too the Panera Bread in Dunwoody. The whole time trying to get me to pull over, me of course not have a clue... he should of made a sign saying "PULL OVER". And when I did (just happened to be near my final desitination)... he followed me just to give me the forums url and his s/n.
So now I spend time here instead of doing homework and sleeping. Beware the Ying.
