...Our OBDII ECU will not allow the Apexi to do its job. End of story.
they do use an EEC V computer but they are differentMSP Chris said:So I take it that getting you guys the pin setup for a Focus SVT or any other focus would'nt help? I do work at ford you know, so I have access to wiring diagrams with voltage specs. / readings and what not.
yes nick has adapter couplings that can be used to add the MAF to the end of the piping. It will not be in the middle of the piping like it is now.Striker187 said:so for those of us with the injen cai, will the 80mm maf fit? i'm not quite sure how big the piping is on the injen...it's right around 3" though (76.2mm).
hondas use map sensors.aftershock63 said:If it works on the new civics there is a way to get it to work wiht are cars. I'm sure it will work on other OBDII why can't it work on ares. just because there not a direct diagram for it doesn't mean it won't work. It will work it just takes some modification.
xelderx said:I called Apexi in 2001 when I bought my Pro5 and discussed all of this with them. They had no idea if it would work on our cars or not. Then it was proven that it wouldn't work. I'm sure there are ways that you can trick the MAF signal into displaying the right readings for the Apexi, but this is not going to be a plug and play unit. With the prices that have been quoted for pairing this up with a new MAF and a piggyback of some sort, not to mention the cost of time involved to figure it all out...you could just about by a stand alone microtech and have infinetly better results in the long run since since its capability is pretty limitless.
and i keep saying that the obdII part of the ecu isn't the part that matters at all. it could be obd0 for all it matters, it's just our ecu, which just happens to be obdII. the obd system involved has nothing to do with why this doesn't work. they are 2 separate things. just because the one that does work happens to be obdI is merely coincidence.xelderx said:jred321
I requote myself...maybe it wasn't clear the first time. As I was saying in the other post. The A-Spec ECU won't work, but the J-spec ECU will. You keep wanting to generalize this as an issue on all cars. I'm not discussing anything other than our Mazdas. The J-spec/OBDI will work. The A-spec OBDII which sits in your Mazdaspeed will not work. If you bought the J-spec/OBDI ECU you would be able to benefit from the Apexi in your Mazda. But you have the Ford ECU, just like the rest of us and it just isn't going to work. I'm sorry that you didn't buy an Eclipse.

YOU WILL NEVER pass any emmisions testsif it is not. PERIOD
how are you contacting them and what number do you have?Vapor said:I would probably buy perfworks piggyback, but I never get a reply from Modern Performance....
