Newbie with settings question on Apexi AFC in a Mazdaspeed

First off let me thank the members and this forum for information I have already used on my wife's new Mazdaspeed. I made sure she would only buy a car that can safely carry the kids in and clean up any Hondus when need be. I really don't like those cars much at all. As of now I have installed a FMIC, HKS BOV and am currently working on installing a Super AFC to fine tune the fuel curve and take advantage of the decel correct feature. Right now after installation I am having a problem with keeping the car running, I have called Apexi and they told me I may have to change the sensore settings. But they couldn't tell me what to set it to. They kinda said figure it out, type deal, not very promising. My question is does anyone have a AFC on there car (I am sure a few of you do) and if so what may be the proper settings to make the car run? Thanks again very much.

this has been discussed 10 million times, nobody has ever been able to get the AFC to work

The Apexi SAFC does not work on the MSP. The output signal from the MAF and other sensors are not compatible with the inputs on the SAFC. Knoledgable people have tried to get it to work with special electrical wiring and other 'rigging' if-you-will and come up short. Every shop I went to said "hell no I have tried that once already". Its a pain.
Sell the SAFC
Purchase a Airflow Logistics AFC
OR
Purchase an MPI

The Airflow logisitics is really cheap and is proven to work. It does not control timing, extra injectors, or other options. It is a great solution for getting the right AFRs, if that is all you are interested in. Install is a breeze, I have written a schematic, and fuel MAPS are downloadable. Send a Dyno to the seller and you can even get MAPS written specifically for you... that get you very close (maybe 90% tuned).

The MPI controls timing, extra injectors, and is a great all-around EMS. Many have liked it, and there is a lot of help on here. If you want more power / versatiliy down the road spring for this unit.... though it costs over double the unit mentioned above (unless you can find a used one)

yes but you should be able to sell that unit easily, especially if it is new / newer

let me know if you have questions on the AFC over PM
