so.. newbie question i know but im kinda new at this.
any how, 04 mazda6. i was bored yesterday so decided to take a shot at cleanin the engine bay. all is going well till i decide to take out the filter box out etc, anyways my question is easy, there is a hose connectin on the intake hose, and then there is the maf, unplugged the maf, made my way up. but theres another hose there, im guessin its a vaccume hose, its wrapped in a rubberish coverin, cylinder shaped, and it connects somethings, im guessin vaccume hose or something. well that hose split, the rubber coverin/connecting the hoses was worn out and easy cracked right down the middle. i used duct tape as part time jus to keep the air going through both...im chaing the tape almost after every drive so it doesnt melt on....
what is that hose? and do i have to worry about anything major? it looks like a $.50 job to fix..but i was jus curious.
