Proud owner of a 2002 p5 for over a year now. Looking to start doing some entry level mods. Been looking at exhaust systems and stumbled on this. I am just kind of worried because it's generic but the price range is good and it's more than just the one piece, or is something like this fine for entry level? Appreciate the help!

Welcome!

Your first exhaust there is a catback, meaning it replaces all the pipe after the secondary catalytic converter, hence the multiple pieces and the name. It is however, your typical eBay no brand exhaust, which ive heard can have fittment issues as well as welds break on them. Can really be hit or miss.

Your second one is an axle-back exhaust which simply replaces the muffler and the short section of pipe just before it. OBX is a reputable company so it should be good quality and be well put together.

As far as sound goes, the axle-back will provide less volume but should give a good growl to it at WOT. The catback should offer more overall volume but shouldnt have any rasp, considering you have stock exhaust otherwise.

If you're looking for a catback, I have one... a magnaflow for an mp5 if you're interested. It's about the same
Price as those. Personally if you're looking for a nice to tone, axel backs sound lovely
