Hey there, I got my MS Protg a few week ago (love every min in it) and been looking on your web site ever sense, GOOD Job.

The ? is, has anyone done a SVT focus (oops did I say SVT) tranny swap before. I ask this because I enjoy turns and shifting in my driving and not so much raw acceleration (although it is nice every now and then)

If know one has done the swap is there any thoughts on this? (Like can it be done for under $3000)

Funny, you make it sound like the MSP is a powerhouse off the line.

But really, what's wrong with the tranny?

BTW:
Welcome!!! (hi)

Why in the world would you wanna do this?

Like is said i like corners and shifting , more gears more shift and it looks like the gear ratios in ths svt would put the MSP in more of a sweet spot on stock power.

what are the gear ratios for the SVT?

I think the MSP is already geared pretty high in most gears, making you have to work more to have more fun. IMO

By know means is the MSP a power house If I want straight line performance I use my CV and I would rather spend money on other things then just hp.

Its just that first I almost worthless to me, I'm 1 to 2 tenths slow when starting in 2nd verses 1st gear

and nothing is wrong with the tranny its just a driver pref., on the roads I drive most turns I'll come out at about 60 to 70 so Im in 3rd and by the time I hit the next turn I just get into 4th, so I would like more shifting on acceleration and deceleration (this is what make driving fun to me other wise i would of bought the srt 4 (probly not because i thinks it ugly)

I wouldn't bother...... there's been quite a few issues with the SVT's tranny thus far (one of my friends has had nothing but problems with his)

I wouldn't worry about corners and shifting on the MSP....

and like someone said with the new ECU flash you're gonna gain a ton of power in the "sweet spot".... heres the details
