I bought a new toy today and can't wait til it gets here. Its a computer specifically designed for cars called the "VoomPC". Its small footprint size, configurable power supply and endless configuration capabilities makes it a perfect driving companion. I have a Haltech E6X powering my turbo setup so tuning is desired on a regular basis. I also wanted something integrated so that I can add any peripherals as time and money allows.
I started off with a dual 1.6Ghz processor: Intel Atom specific for low power consumption, 160GB hard drive for storing digital high def music, 2GB memory for fast response and 6 USB inputs for expansion and add ons. The overall dimensions come out to 10" x 8" x 3". just right for under the seat.
There is also a 7" touchscreen option for $200. I already have one, but they are perfect for fitting into the double din opening in the dash. With all its capabilities, I mostly plan on using it for tuning the turbo computer. I did, however, decide to buy the OBDII scanner that integrates into the system for on screen visuals of diagnostics and sensor monitoring ($24 option not too shabby).
I know a lot of people prefer the use of a laptop, but with limited space in the wagon, i chose to go the more stealth route. As time goes on and things get added, so will pictures and updates to this thread so stay tuned and subscribe if you plan on doing anything like it. All input from anyone that has already done this is greatly welcome and appreciated!
