I am in the market for a new turbocharger. Help me pick from this list.
Thanks (uhm)

theres no list.
do you have a built motor, more fuel, and engine management?
Edit: The gt28rs is probably the best turbo there.. more power and same spool.
I hope you realize you alraedy have a gt25 on your MSP

Dont waste your money on a bigger turbo until youve got all of the above...
Also take in mind you may need a new manifold and downpipe..

edit 2: i voted gt25, because you dont need a bigger turbo.

I have about $6,000 to spend on my MSP. I don't know much more about this stuff than the average person. My uncle owns his own shop and knows quite a bit about this stuff. He told me he was going to replace the ECU in my car for better fuel management.

Dont wanna be rude, but you dont need a fast car unless you can fix it and tune it yourself.

but anyways, with that kinda cash to throw at it
Get haltech e6k or e11k(windows compatible)
Pauter Rods
JE 8.5:1 Pistons
550CC injectors
FMIC
3in Exhaust
HKS, or Greddy BOV
Grounding Kit
Motor Mounts
15 or 16in rims with Drag Radials....
spec stage 2 clutch
ss clutch lines
ss brake lines
have your uncle take the tranny off and strengthen the welds on the differential
thicker axles
eibach springs

we have a regular t25 turbo with a upgraded bb center section..its not a gt25....this has been beatin like a dead horse and was finally put to rest....on topic.......i would upgrade ur stock turbo to a "big28" and have fun...easily over 300whp and cheap too :)

The turbo should be the last thing on your list to modify. A lot can be done with this stock turbo. It can push out enough extra power to rip the stock rods to shreds even with good tuning.

I 2nd every part that was listed by KyRaceFan.

*watching this noob to see how long his motor lasts*

definately.
Then again, i hope he buys a boost gauge before he puts on a boost controller (dark)

t3/t04 all the way!!! the t28 is a great turbo for its price but t3/t04 spools up quicker and pound for pound gives way better gains. If you had a t3/t04 on a msp at all stock setting it would be about 40 horse more..

true, but boost cut is boost cut. Doesn't matter what a guage tells you. If you can turn it up more without hitting boost cut why does it matter what the guage says?? We know that turbo doesn't put out massive power. I was driving my car for weeks without a boost guage and it ran fine....except rare occassions when it would be cold out or so. My problem happened when it got on the dyno nad threw the "random multiple misfires" CEL. That was the end of my msp.

UI swear all day by the T3/T4, but I've heard great things about that GT28R for 2.0L or less motors.

The car has enough stock fuel to be safe until 12psi, maybe 13 or 14 on race gas. The rods cant handle detonation. If you ran unlonwn boostpsi for a few weeks, your car was a timebomb waiting to explode, and then... voila, it did, and i bet those random misfires were massive detonation. It sparked, but didnt ignite anything since it was already burned.
I mean for all you know you were running 16-20psi. No way to tell.
But hey man, i was just teasing you. I hope you learned your lesson though about how unsafe it is to turn the boost up without a gauge.

just logged on. In reply to kyracefans comment. He said strengthen welds on differencial. Are mazdaspeeds known for weak diffs, because mine is split in half rollin stock. The reason I ask is mazda wont fix it.

gcottons diff cracked.. mazda didnt cover it because of his fmic and exhaust
But yea im thinking the diff isnt the strongest, as there are only 2 welds holding it together.

Once i buy exhaust, and new tires, im gonna get it strengthened by the same shop working on gcottons diff now...

mazda N/A

basically its a waiting game
if the car is stock, they shouldnt have any reason the weld broke other than faulty workmanship.

Did you just say a T3 spools faster than a T28(boom08) (nuts)

my cars been sitting for 6 months. what the real deal is , my tranny was replaced one time because the diff stopped grabbing, andwhen mom picked up the car she signed a peice of paper sayingany more abuse by owner wont be covered. then the diff split in half 3months later

yea i saw that, but decided not to mention it.....
A t3/t04e 40 trim will be at 8psi by about 3400 on this car, and the gt 28 would be about 3000.

Both would make about the same power....

unless ut goin for 400whp a t3/t4 is worthless...if u want useable wide powerband...get a gt28 or just upgrade ur t25 with t28 internals.....no point in payin so much for a whole new turbo when ur stck on is nice already......(chair)
