New Turbo Kit

Yeah, I agree with Darin. Nothing against Spool at all but the dyno can be confusing. Whats the second line etc.? Although, I wouldn't know if 151whp was unrealistic, i'm not that smart.
Assuming they are using about the same size turbo as FlyinMiata's intercooled kit, it strikes me odd to see claims of about equal HP from hotter air, at lower psi levels.

That's all.

well it's usually easy when FM's system is so restrictive and the manifold looks like some universal fitment beast of vagueness

How is the FM system 'restrictive'? What is your issue w/ the manifold? Care to elaborate?

yes, explain. My main goal is to get behind a company 100% so i'm looking for all the info. I can. I am considering a Stage 1 non intercooled, then upgrade if/when necessary. I have been given assurances this would be great, and I have been told it might not be. Ive heard great things about Spool and FProtege. Anyone with a Stage 1 care to pipe in???

Im pretty sure FM retains the first cat, where spool removes it. This could be where some of the power is....

Your right. It's probably due to keeping both cats. Also you might see more flow with Spools manifold. Im not sure the intercooler has much to do with it. Although Flyin Protege's intercoolers pretty small.

plus the fact that FMs dyno is chock full of detonation..has anyone even actually looked at it?

Have you looked at their "bone stock" dyno?
The trend is very similar to the one under boost.
So are you saying the stock one is undergoing detonation as well?

As for your kit. That's cool that your almost done. It will be very nice once your's and Micah's are optimized. You guys going to race? :D

FM is a GREAT kit, but Spool does have an edge on the "flows".

Better intercooler?, better downpipe, one less cat, better manifold design (in terms of flow), and a few other minor things. I really wanted the FM kit, but after reading up on turbos and applying or trying to remember a few things from my M.E. classes, Spool was the way to go.

4.5 psi non-intercooled is possible.

I talked to wagner, For 1200$ he can do me Exhaust manifold, mid-pipe with cat, downpipe, oil return lines, and all piping for the turbo with BOV mounted and all installed..not bad at all eh? all I need now is the turbine and BOV and intercooler..not bad at all..

Where did you get this info from???
Yes we both utilize t3's but that means nothing in regards to turbo sizing i.e compressor wheel, turbine ect.

We got these numbers @ mid 80degrees at sea level.
Remember we utilize different manifolds, downpipe, no cats and bigger turbos. Actually 150whp aint all that impressive
(shrug)

Also FM is located in colorado. To my understanding they run on 91 octane fuel. That would also account in variation of dyno numbers

here is the deal..I'm going to go with a T25. I have the intercooler from a SR20DET Bluebird and it will bolt up. I can get the T25 for cheap so thats not an issue. The downpipe, exhaust manifold, and piping and installation will come a la wagner motorsports most likely, unless Micah can strike a deal with Nick M. The only issue is the FMIC. Any thoughts, I know nothing about this and I'm running close to budget. HELP! Also, anyone have any advice about the Bosch Recirculating BOV's? It will help me keep my motor from running too lean. Also, are my stock fuel pumps alright for now? or should I upgrade? thanks for all your help guys..soon the boost will be mine..its me vs. you micah..we'll see who can put it down harder..hehe..

Sigh...Since I'm a big ass chump I've decided to wait on the boost till this spring. It will make more sense once I'm down in florida and have the money to set this up right the first time. I'm just too scared of blowing my motor up due to an improper and under financed set-up. Thank you guys so much for your all your help! I'll leave this up just so others can see why they need to wait for boost.

edit! but...there is a guy selling a MSP motor on the boards..if this goes through..I'll just swap the motor out..i hope this works...500$ for a MSP motor is hot butter on my breakfast toast.
