03 mazdaspeed protege
whatz up 247 my name is Ralph i just got me a 03 Mazda speed protege, iam full of questions since i never messed with Mazda's, i used to be a honda guy all my life and now am trying new things,i would like to start the friendship here by going ahead with a few questions.thankx in advance for any comments.

whats the max boost a stock protege can hold?
what will i need to boost up to 12psi
what is out there to tune Mazda's
what are common problems with mp3's
what is the ecu flash issue i heard about?(hesitation under acceleration )

max for stock internals should be 9-10 psi
for 12 psi or even the 9-10 you need intake, exhaust, injectors and piggy back at least
piggy backs you have split second AFC, FIC AEM FIC, some haltech units. most common is the split second AFC

ok the exhaust is done already and AEM intake also i got an (apexi SAFC 2) any idea where i can get a wire diagram?

Unichip is the best Piggyback unit Hands down for this car IMHO
haltech is the best standalone hands down for this car IMHO
Stick with Stock boost till you have all the supporting mods
can run 12psi with all supporting mods WITH meth
9-10psi without meth
Most likely you will have the flash already done, check on your hood it should be there.
Common issues with the MSP*** (not MP3) are Weal breaking LSD's, Wastegate Failure, Rear clunk, bad motor mounts, WEAK AS HELL rods, also the trans cant hold much more than 300HP

But welcome to Mazdas247! I'm from Pottstown, which isn't TO far from you! I'm like 20mins at most away from the KOP mall.

ok thankx right now i have exhaust and lowered cf hood...

issues:
rear clunk (gets on my nerves!!)
bad motor mounts
hesitation under acceleration (sometimes)
check engine light with 3 codes p2006 po131 and po134

yea get meth if you wanna run 12 psi. coolingmist.com has the kit i got it works great.... get awr mounts, youll never have issues with that again. the apexi afc doesnt like to play nicely with the ecu try to get a split second or some guys are starting to run aem FIC...

ok so if i run meth where would i get the mixtures? does this afect averyday driving ? with wat i have read it seems like meth is more like a track thing. has anyone here ran e85 on there mazda? a friend of mine run 15 psi on a stock acura integra 3 years stright never had an problem with e85,i found this ''' on a form i read( Ethanol is generally the same characteristics and properties as methanol, but does not cool down the intake charge as well and as mentioned above costs a good amount more then methanol).

methonal has almost no downside as far as i can say. Cools down the intake charge, stronger ignition, extremely cheap. all that people run for methonal is just blue washer fluid its about 50/50 water/meth. you can mix it yourself if you want or just add more methanol to that mix. you have to tune your car for it, and it is controlled by boost, so if you aren't always boosting you dont use it. the cost is about $6 a tank if you want to run a little more meth than water. no one really runs e85 on proteges, idk why because i came from the honda game myself and a bunch of people run it with great success..

Never saw or even read about e85 on proteges, prob. Have to tune it to use that. And that would be a full standalone.

the mix is just washer fluid. walmart has it. HEET gas line evaporator is pretty much pure methonal.. or snowperformance.com
