NEW to the Mazda 5 world

Just picked up my New 2009 Mazda 5 and the wife is super happy with the new set of wheels.

Since the snow is falling as a type this message, I was just wondering if anyone had an idea where I could get some winter mats? Should I break down and pay $85 for the winter mats from the dealers or is there a better alternative?

Hi and good day Figo! Congratulations on your new "baby"! I can assure you that you will truly enjoy your Mazda 5.

If you have the money to spare, why not go for it. But if you just need an all around rubber mat which will do the job during winter days, there are plenty out there with price tags definitely a tad lower.

Congratulations again!

You can pick up the mats (P/N 0000-8B-L25) online from like onlinemazdaparts.com or mazdagear.com for like $60+shipping.

Remember: not having the dealer install them may void your warranty.

:-)

My only complaint is that there is no third row set to the mats.

Welcome... We love the 5 as well. Dealer was kind enough to throw all weathers in for us but I wouldnt go without them. I would easily pay the $80 for them.

I received them as a present from dealer, I'm pretty happy with them. I still think to throw something under those for winter just to make sure I don't get salt all over the floor

The snow is coming down hard and I should have bought those mats today.... kids will have to wear plastic bags on their shoes on the ride home tonight.

I've turned into my father...next car miata!!!

As a dad of two boys (5 and 7), I keep my rear winter mats in place year round. I agree with all above, a good purchase worth investment, $60 or 85.

LOL!

My exact words before figo....I remember those days when my dad would always nag me (bicker) about going inside the car with filthy shoes. Oh man.....never thought we would turn out the same when the time comes.

Like father like son? :D

No worries it happens to everybody. My dad once said, all pissed off:
"you'll start caring for your car as soon as it starts costing you your own money"

He is so damn right!

Wow... some of you guys are anal about your cars!! I like a clean car, but it'll drive you insane trying to keep it spotless. Your kids are going to get it dirty one way or another. Use common sense to keep it as clean as possible... but making them wear plastic bags??? They're going to have issues when they get older!

Not to mention it's going to lose value throughout its entire existence. I'm just sayin'.

Plastic bags?........Well i don't have a problem keeping mine clean. Kid's do mess up things but what can one do, they are just kids. Enjoy your Mazda5............(drive)
