hey whats up im jordan i just recently bought a mazda protege5 mp5 is what its called on here im pretty new to mazda's and to the whole racing and into cars and fixing them up it just struck intrest to me recently but back to my mp5 its engine is all stock but im lookin to buy a intake soon already got the money just waiting to order it i have a 6.5 in dash dvd audio player, 12in. explod on a 760w xplod amp, i have altezza carbon fiber tail lights, it has rims dont know what size they are it has toyo tires but yah i want to fix my mp5 up anyone want to give me some tips and advice on where to start and what things to do first

Welcome aboard! I can almost guarantee you the first comments by a lot of other members here will be to lose the Altezza's. A lot of people on here don't like them. I'm undecided myself, but it's your car, so do what you like with it.
What aspect are you looking to do up? Appearance? Performance? I would suggest window tint (really finishes the look of the car), and a short-throw shifter. Those (apparently) make all the difference, I can't wait to get mine in. I'm sure the older members have better suggestions though lol.
Anyway, welcome again!

yah i was actually lookin to get rid of the altezza and the head lights and throw the black euro headlights or the jdm black diamond head lights and jdm euro smoke tail lights and i want to like mostly all mechanical cause i dont want to ge all fast and furious s*** all riced out type of stuff im more into man this car looks stock but gots some s*** under the hood aka i want to be a creeper

Kinda surprised no one beat me to it but if they aren't the stock rims look at the tires that are on them and it will tell u what size they are. It'll look something like this: P205/50R16. The numbers are located on the tires sidewall, the number 16 is the size, my guess is that it is either 16 or 17 for yours.

Basically when you ask questions that can be easily answered by simply using the search function, you can be scolded or "flamed", just remember some people who have been here for years have answered these Q's a million times so they can get old. Searching makes you use this forum to the full and you'll learn alot!

you dont have to outright lose the headlights. theres a thread about blacking out the chrome housings. its easy if you follow the directions and take your time.

you can always do a tailight overlay on your tails if you want to change the way they look. bluebatmobile.net has several options if you decide to go that route.

heres a picture to give you an idea of what a smoked tailight on a p5 looks like. these are overlays from RockBlocker, which honeslty was not a wise descision on my part. Rockblocker uses a very thick protective film, which is ideal for your headlights and foglights, but pointless for the tails unless you travel in reverse at 40 miles an hour everywhere. Bluebatmobile uses a thinner material, thats more appearance oriented and is ideal for your tails.

i took the RB ones off a day later, because the shape of our tails makes it hard for someone inexperienced to apply a thick material like that.

yah i looked today they are 16's and they got like a Q on the middle of the rim for the brand of the rim idk what they are tho and i just got a k&N Filter idk how to put it on the im gonne do some researching so i can install it
