2002 Protege ES
What's up everybody? Just wanted to introduce myself to the board as I picked up an '02 Protege ES a couple weeks ago. I've been lurking for a few months now, first to decide whether the Protege was the car I wanted, and later after I bought it to learn more about it. Haven't posted yet because there's just so much to search through and most of my questions can be answered that way. I've also been registered on honda-tech for the past few years (I had an '01 Integra GSR a couple of cars ago) under a different username and am still fairly active on that site, so if anybody is also there you may know me already. That about covers it. I'm really enjoying the car thus far and look forward to expanding my knowledge of it. Thanks for reading.

Welcome man, Post up some pics in the 3rd gen owners photos when you get a chance! ES defintely > LX/DX. Wish I had held out for one.

What are you looking to do to your car?

I was going to take some pics yesterday after I washed it, but it rained 30 minutes later... Murphy's law I guess. As far as my plans, I'm thinking the Tokico HPs/Eibach Pro-Kit, some form of rear sway (RB probably), A B&M SS, an intake of some sort (debating between CAI and SRI) and a header to get rid of the pre-cat. I'm not too fond of the header brands we have available for these cars though, honestly. Coming from the Honda world where your options are limitless it sucks to see only a couple of choices from less than reputable companies. I've been reading that DC Sports has one in the works though, so I'll probably hold out for that when it gets released. Later on down the road I'll consider the j-spec intake cam and maybe a small audio upgrade. My wife and I have our first (and only!) child on the way, so I can't let my addiction get too out of control. The mods listed should make for an entertaining, reliable daily driver though, I think.

Nice, sounds like you've got a good plan worked out! Best of luck with the car and child!

Welcome, it only takes one good mod to become addicted. The wheels did it for me ;)
