Hey all--

Just picked up a replacement to my dearly departed '07 Black Mica MS3. This was my first time driving an '08 and noticed something. The clutch was MUCH stiffer and the transmission felt much more solid than my original ('07) car. Did Mazda change the clutch and/or stiffen the transmission bushings and mounts between these years? I seem to remember that they did. Anyone?

This is the OEM clutch on the car and my mechanic said it didn't look like any tranny work had been done...

BTW, CBM looks sweet with window tint and graphite wheels. I dismissed this color early, but wow--this is a really cool and understated color. I love it!

Daniel

PS--One other thing. If you take the final cat and break out the baffling in it, will it be as good as a test pipe in the gains seen? Anyone tried it and had a positive experience?

Makes the car sound better. I can't say I saw anything much. Probably up-higher I broke tires loose a bit easier. Was easy... bolts were kind of a pain, honestly.

I had a test pipe on my old one and it made a significant difference. Most say it doesn't, but the TP did for my '07. Since I have an extra last cat, I figured I'd try to hollow it out and see. (The TP was an absolute b***h to get it, even with my mechanic's help. Evidently SLS Performance's TP doesn't fit exactly. A warning to those buying it from them on Ebay.

Cosmic blue looks awesome under the city lights at night. It flies under the radar during the day and does not draw unwanted attention.

i just emailed derrick at Corksport about a high flow cat at the mid pipe position. I have been running their tbe with test pipe for a couple years.
The price was steep. Try a test pipe from them or cpe and there is one more too that i cant recall that are perfect fite and not so expensive. To open up your Cat is not a good investment because if you need to replace it for emissions or something it gets pricey.
So my suggestion is try out a test pipe first.
and gl!
ps CB is really the best and certainly fastest color in my less than humble opinion
