Welcome. Good luck with the MS3 swap though. Doing a fully built FS-DE or KLZE will make more power and for maybe half the price of just the MS3 swap.

Has an ms3 swap been done on a protege yet? People talk about it all the time but never get it done. Klze is the jdm klde or v6 that came in the probe gt and the mx6 and 626 etc I personally want to see a ms3 swap though. Fully built fsde or klze will have more power than a stock ms3 but your comparing fully built to stock. A much better designed and actually built for power stock motor compared to economy motor

Yeah but doing a fully built KL or FS will still be cheaper than a stock MZR swap. The direct injection with high pressure fuel pump and CAN-BUS system are going to be a headache and a half.

Is the ms3 motor an mzr? I thought it was disi or something like that. What is CAN BUS? Obviously it would be a lot of work but in the end I think it would be worth it. Look at the people that did the d16 and sr20 swaps those weren't easy either. But then again old motor into an old car is different than new motor into old car... but with the right tools and patience anything can be done

so my cousins have been tellin me instead do a swap from the 88-92 mx-6 turbo motor instead has it been done? and also worth it or is klze better ?

I know the kl-ze makes around 190-200 hp stock. You make the call lol. Take a look at Lewis7787 (sorry Evan I don't remember your name on here :X lol) but he has a build thread with a kl swap, not sure if it's the ze tho

but as for the 89 mx-6 turbo motor has it been done ?? and also the transmission is it footprinted to the p5 blot up or no, i do know that the 626 5 speed is, also is it hard to do a auto to manual swap ? sorry for all the questions, theres just noone in nyc that works on these cars, and im thankful i found this forum.
