2006 Mazdaspeed6 GT
Hey guys I just found this forum and wanted to say hello -
After being about 15 minutes from buying a legacy GT i discovered the mazdaspeed6 and I think I am going to be buying one tomorrow instead of the subie. Quick question how can I tell if the car is a GT vs non GT model. Is it leather and moonroof? Are those the only 2 thjings that make it different? The car I am looking at has leather and a moonroof. I noticed another one on the lot that is MY07 had some sort of remote control thingy near the gear shifter but the MY06 I am looking at does not have this. Any help is greatly appreciated. I look forward to getting to know you all -

Jay

A GT has leather, keyless start, and an advanced keyless entry system. Moonroof and Navigation are options on the GT only.

That thing you saw down by the shifter on the 07 was the navigation remote control.

I would take the MS6 and the Legacy GT out for a drive. The MS6 is a bit sportier, but the LGT is more comfortable, quieter, and a bit quicker in the straight line. Its all subjective, but take your time, and Good Luck!

+1 what he said

him taking about the keyless entry and start is you get a little device about the size of a credit card you can leave it in your pocket or wallet, etc. you walk up to the car, it senses it and you press the button on the side of the handle and it unlocks it, the car starts without putting a key in, but the card device has to be inside the car for it to start that only comes on the GT model

The non-GT (bka Sport) only comes with a keyfob with the flip out key, and the remote buttons to unlock the car.

If you don't need Navigation then the MY07 you can pass up, since it'll be more money. but if you do want navigation and the price is right for you, then you should get that.

But do EXACTLY as Igve said.... I test drove both myself and I decided I wanted the speed6... best of luck to you (2thumbs)
