i wouldn't go short ram...switch to the aem cold air! i had one in my old NA six and it gave it a lot more umph. for exhaust, don't go name brand. have a local exhaust shop do a straight pipe job and pick your own muffler tips. the car will sound amazing and you won't have to spend 600 dollars to sound like a honda lol. after that i'd say headers is your only other option (if you don't care about voiding the warranty) because dropping a turbo in your car will be very pricey...

oh and roll the damn fenders! if you don't you'll never find rims to fit!
i had a 2006 mazda 6 only a few months ago and it ran great and everyone loved it. i just recently upgraded to a speed6 (and joined this forum). if you have an questions feel free to PM me...finding parts for our cars is a nightmare! at least where i'm from...

at first i ordered the cold air intake but then i was thinking about it. i get a lot of rain in new york. so i decide im gonna send the cold air back and i already order short ram to replace it.

i def want to go turbo. i was going to wait to i got the turbo to get wastegate headers.

well even in new york you'd have to drive your car through a 5 foot deep puddle to hydrolock...why not get a dry filter to go over? i'm just saying it's always better to get cold air into the engine instead of warmer air...unless you're gonna get an airbox? i know corksport makes one for the mazdaspeed 6 short ram. is your car ATX or manual?

If you want a turbo you should of just bought the speed6. trying to convert it is going to be expensive and probably not gonna net you comparable performance.

first of all, welcome to m247 Spencer!!! i hope you enjoy your mazda for a long time!

turbo'ing your car... not worth it.
there was a show car 6i that went turbo in socal.
got stupid low numbers. and stupid high cost.

hahahah yeah man i did the same thing! but like i said i know those are the few upgrades available for your car. you're not gonna be able to get a hell of a lot out of the engine but the cars are attractive and sound good when you remove the muffler and get it straight piped. instead of worrying about turbo kits...do some suspension work! get some badass rims, and enjoy a car that's still under warranty once everything's done!

welcome to the forums!
(can i say that even though i just joined?)

i read up on the weapon r headers and from what i found the few people that had em said there were fitment issues, id say go custom headers

do you guys think it would be worth it to get the weapon r headers and weapon r intake manifold

did anyone else here about bad fitment with the weapon r headers.
and does anyone no were you can get custom headers made at????
does anybody know were i can get the shark fin at????

first off, welcome aboard.

check out some of the forums vendors (Authorized Vendor Directory)

that will give you some ideas of whats available for your car, from dealers that have been proven trustworthy (some other vendors have been booted for shady business practices..)

the sharkfin is made by visual garage (or VG for short) so googling that should pull it up if one of the vendors does not carry it.

also, I know its written for the speed6, but TunerSteve wrote a "what should I do first" thread a while back that might be of assistance. Its stickied at the top of the Lounge.
