bubble in my tire so the parents want me to get new tires. i want to "upgrade" since ill be buying them. what do yall recommend? in the 185/195? wheels are only 6.5w.

i was thinking either

>Yokohama S.drive
>Hankook Optimo H418
or
>Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S

i do light offroad (though even stock tires prove very good for that) stuff and generally other stuff with friends but ill be doing some light track and drag stuff soon. but i still want a good daily tire.

if anything i was gonna have them split the cost as an early christmas present.

Exalto's all the way! Otherwise wheels and tires, but always Michelins for daily driver. I have 215/45-17's MXM4's. Smooth as glass and sticky.

I just got the Sdrives in the stock size for my daily drive . They are fantastic , if you live in a warmer area go with the summer tire . Manufactures have to make to many compromises with " all season " tires . Here's a good article on that subject . http://www.popularmechanics.com/_mo.../know-your-tires-all-season-vs-summer-9647443 <a href="http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i67/p3rm/?action=view&current=7FF540F4-29BB-42AA-9218-0B6EEEA6F119-1154-000000FEE656733F.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i67/p3rm/7FF540F4-29BB-42AA-9218-0B6EEEA6F119-1154-000000FEE656733F.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos" /></a>

Love them as well. They look very nice. Your wheels look good like that. Nice!

the guy asked if i was upgraded and i said yes and before i could say sdrives he was already like well if you want cheap but really good street tires get sdrives. so i was like shutup and take my money

The Michelin tires/tyres are a great A/S tire. If you see snow up to an inch or two, they still work great. The Yokos are great 3 season tires and they do work in the winter but not much on ice or light snow.

For normal driving, I would get the Michelin tires. For spirited 3 season work, the S-Drives do a bit better and are priced better.

YMMV!

>houston
>snow

yeah...about that =]

since theres only 2 seasons in texas (summer, hot winter) i think ill be good!

I think that you will be very happy with the S-Drives if you never encounter snow. OTH you may be even happier with an Ultra High Performance Summer tire like an RE-11, AD-08, Star Spec or similar. That high level of grip is addictive.

Texas has (black Ice) and they have yet to have made a tire for that! This morning was 32 Friday its going to be 85 degrees!

I used to run S-Drives on my Subaru for quite a while, and they never failed me! They held up decently that one Christmas it snowed a few years back, too.

on another note though, if it's icy on our side of town there's a pretty good word of advice for us: DON'T DRIVE! Houston drivers are the worst with snow/ice. :(

>ice/snow
>heavy fog
>heavy rain

never ever drive in those conditions anywhere in houston if u can lol

We run the S-drives on our shop Mazdaspeed 3 and they hold their own in the rain. We have autocrossed them a few times and they did ok despite the torque steer and wheel spin.
