New Stereo System - New Beginning

Hey.....I use to do installs for free. but now that I am an engineer, my time is EXPENSIVE:) So it might be cheaper to get a professional to do it.

Well, it isn't done. But it is done for for at least the next month. I got all the wires routed and cleaned up. I have the amp, capacitor, and bridge module mounted. The box has been mounted also in the trunk, but needs to be recarpeted (messed it up today:( ). Didn't finish the Amp enclosure because side complications (neighbor's kid sat on it, nearly killed him). Anyways, I will rebuilt it for a later date:)

I will post pictures later.

that's too bad it won't be done in time for the race, I know that was a goal you were aiming for.

On the bright side, you're almost to 1,000 posts!

I would have killed that kid, i probably would have killed the kid for going near it in the first place, the kid broke it? damn how much of a fatass is it?

Trust me, I thought about killing the kid. What happen: I took the bottom off the box to do some fitting on the rear seat. So I left it at the front of the car in the garage, while I was working on the back seat. Next, I hear this cracking sound and look towards the front of the car and see the neighbor's kid sitting on it. The top piece was totally cracked and the side pieces are stressed, which I would replace just in case. Oh well, not much I can do now. After that, I was pretty frustrated and just wanted to get the car back together, then called it a day.

I look at it this way. The system is working. It doesn't look that bad. Yes it is a set back, but it could lead to better than things:)

Aren't you sacrificing performance by adding all the weight of the system as well as the power drain?

In any case, good luck I'd like to see how you do compared to your previous car's audio projects!

When thats a concern, simply use Birth plywood. Its more expensive then MDF, but its also alot lighter and alot stronger too.

Thanks but I was just being a pain in the (_|_) hehe

Thats fine, but it is a realist consideration for some people.

The box was made of 3/4-MDF, wouldn't use anything else (unless I wanted to do fiberglass). The amp enclosure (when I rebuild it) will be made of 1/2" pine plywood, which is very light by itself.

yeah, my entire sub enclosure is going to be made out of fiberglass. also, im trying to use the least amount of wood as possible for the false floor (3/4" mdf) to save on weight.

Hey Jose, when you finish your subbox....wanna help me do one for my car? Wouldn't mind creating one right when the jack is located. What do you think?

No no no. use 3/4 Birtch plywood, its half the weight of MDF.

(hand) its already bought, and half cut. im only using one 17"X10" piece, one 17"X14" piece (with a hole cut in the middle for plexi), and 2 10"X3" pieces. it doesnt have much weight at all.
