Ok, I'm about to pull the trigger but I want to know your opinion. I want these wheels because they look good and are very light. I'm moving down to 17 " wheels so I will have more and cheaper options on tires. They are 17x7 with 42 offset so they will stick out .4" more than stock. I know most people opt for a wider rim but this is the stock size and I will be using 215/50's. These are 10 lbs each lighter than stock, so there should be a very noticable gain in usable WHP. My only worry is there may be more wheel hop with the lighter rims. I will be selling my stock wheels minus the TPMS's and tires seperately. I have 11,000 miles on the tires with more than half the tread left. How much should I ask for the wheels and the tires? I'm considering selling the wheels seperately due to many forum members seeming to need only one wheel. This will help those people that have damaged one and don't want to pay the dealer big $$$ for a new one.

Soft? You mean you heard they will bend easily when impacting pot holes? I realize that lighter often means giving up strength. But 10 lbs each off the corners would be big.

Cost and weight goes up with size, getting them to fit also becomes an issue.

I don't track my car, so 17x7 with 215/50's will be enough. bigger tires also means less gas mileage. I do like the look of wide tires and cornering would be better. There is a nice VDub here with wide ass tires and it looks good, just not my style. Sleeper.

I'm probably going with 17X8 wheels-either by Enkei or O.Z.-and Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 "Star Spec" tires for my track setup.

I have the same wheels (different color) as my winter wheels. 17x7 +42 215/50 Blizzaks for the snow.

Here's a couple of pics for reference;

Thanks Midwest, I was just sent a PM from a person on another forum and he found the same wheels in 50mm offset which is closer to the stock 52mm.

So I'm definately getting them now.

OH, by the way. ROLL TIDE.

Wow... before I bought the MS3, I had a Scion xB on order. (I was originally planning to jsut go for CHEAP- glad I wised up) I had ordered a set of these same wheels from Tire Rack thru a local tire dealer, but I had gotten the +36mm offset partially because they were on sale for $149. (That would have been OK on the xB) I've been debating whether to tell the tire guy to send them back, or keep them & see if they'll fit on the MS3 with the +36mm offset & 225/45's on them.

Wondering if I can get away with them on stock suspension, and whether or not they would rub after I upgrade the suspension a little. Most performance upgrades seem to lower the car, with the possible exception of coilovers, which would just be overkill since I don't intend to track/autocross the car.

so you can purge the tire of air and fill with nitrogen. its starting to trickle down from top of the line rims.

they dont look too bad, I like that they stick out towards the fender more than the stock ones do.

The kosei's are light but they arent very strong. What about the Enkei RPF1's? They are the same style and are very strong.
