New pictures of my turbo setup

You can get those silicone color hose at most performance store. They are quite expensive. Depending on the size, the price vary from around $2.50 to $10 (cdn) for a feet long.

Just a quick note on those silicone hoses. DON'T USE THEM ON YOUR PCV VALVE! The medium dia. hoses that go from the manifold to the "T" connector and then the short piece from the "T" to the PCV valve WILL collapse after only a few weeks. This will cause the crankcase not to vent properly and possibly cause seals to leak. They don't have the heat resistance that the stock, thick rubber hoses do and they get soft. They work fine on vacuum lines farther back on the intake manifold but My PCV lines collapsed in just a few weeks. I've heard the same complaint from several other people in my area that have used silicone hose kits. Everyone says the same thing: Keep an eye on them and don't use them on the PCV system as you are pulling crankcase temperature air through them and they can't handle it.

Sorry this is off topic....but I was checking your homepage and I say you had a braw on your car. Is it from mazda? And how much was it? Reason I am asking is because, I am going on a long trek to North Carolina and I dont want my paint damaged during the long highway haul.

Thanks

Thats sunoco 116 octane gas, I also think its leaded. Really good stuff to ward of detonation and allows you to run 2-6psi more safley. I ran about 13 psi with it once. The car is uncontrollable without a LSD though.

Bra situation...

Check Mazdastuff.com for the bra, they have it for the Protege 5, it should fit the MP3 front end as well. You can get it through your dealer as well...

I just ran a 14.65 in the 1/4 @ 99 mph with really bad 60 foot times. This was launching at 4000 rpm feathuring the clutch.

90 degree weather
sealevel
80% humidity
7.5 psi of boost w/ 11 degrees of ign retard
Amoco 93 octane

I think I can get better times in cooler weather and up the boost to 12 psi with c16 race gas. This should net 13's

Nice, scan your timeslip so we can see all the details!

The 2 extras injectors are 480cc/min. They are located on the intake pipe. You can see it on this picture between the MP3 plastic cover and the batterie on the blue pipe. I installed yellow tube over the fuel hose.

kick ass airbrushing, you think if someone sent you a car part, you could do some custom airbrushing? Somethign a long the lines of engine parts, nothing exterior.

Traveler, thanks for the tip about the PCV valve, I'll check that!

Equinox, there's no problem with the airbrush. If you can send it, I can paint it!

Hey Stou I just ordered my intercooler from Xtreme machines. I am thinking about running my system the same way you are the guys at xtreme are giving me a pretty good deal. My question to you is can you turn up the boost along with the fuel. Or is it more complicated than that? How are you retarding your timing? The guys at Xtreme assure me that it is reliable. Are you using a BOV? I am not seeing it let me know.

Mike, right now I don't have a boost controller. I have a 8 psi spring in my internal wastegate and for now I found it enough.

If you want to run at lower boost, you must change the internal wastegate spring for a lower pressure one and add a boost controller to be able to rise the boost when you want.

There's a lot of boost controller. For a simple and very not expensive one, you can get the Dawes device or the Hallman

You can control the fuel of the 2 extras injectors via the SDS controller

I have a BOV in my car. Extreme Machine installed a Bosch plastic one that you can see on the output pipe, the yellow one with flames. There's a small K&N filter and a yellow vaccum hose on it. But I replaced it for a Forge BOV

I like your system Stou, have you found out how much the timing control unit is going to cost? Also is it safe to run your car for now without retarding the timing?

Also I found your BOV in the pics, me like:D

Thanks Mike! Right now I run it with the stock timing and I don't have any detonation. I alway use 94 octane gas and run my car on the rich side. So I'm not in a rush to get a timing retarding controller. It is runing realy fine like it is. I see that some guys try to change the timing and got more problem than anything else. Maybe I'll wait a little bit. Someone at MSD told me that they are looking to make a control unit that will work with our cars (distributor less and coils with transistors) and are not too expensive.
