2003 Mazdaspeed Protege
Hey everyone. Figured I'd finally introduce myself on this section of the forums. Name is Jeremiah. I've been a member on here for three years or so. Some of you may of seen me around in other sub-forums on here. Most of you probably have not. I am not typically an avid poster. Hopefully this changes and I become more involved now that I have something new, but I'm usually just on here for the wealth of information this site offers and a good read every now and then. I finally decided enough was enough with my old car and came to the conclusion it was time to let go and move on. I drove a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protg. It was lightly modded and still slower than ever but I loved it! lol It was a great daily and a pretty unique car. I decided to sell it while I still could actually get a decent amount of cash for it. I put that money, along with my tax refund, and some cash I saved on the side, down on my first brand new car. I picked up a Titanium Flash 2014 Mazda3 on February 27th, 2014. iTouring sedan model with the Technology package and manual transmission. Sticker Price was just above 22k at Classic Mazda (great dealership by the way), but I negotiated and got the car for 20k. So far I love everything about the car. I'm averaging about 36-37mpg combined driving and couldn't be happier. This car is such a huge change from what I'm use to. It feels good to finally ride around in something comfortable, fuel efficient, and loaded with technology. I personally feel its the best looking car in its class as well. Only thing I've done to the car so far is slap some 15% window tint on it. Currently don't have too many plans for it down the road. Just a few small accessories/parts here and there. I look forward to being a part of this community as it grows and we all learn more about our cars.

No it was some new sales lady named Samantha. She said it was only her third month there. And yes I was very impressed with that dealership. Best overall purchasing experience I've ever had. Super painless and straightforward from the get go.

I just purchased the very similar hatchback version of your's which appears as my profile image. My story is a little unique as I am a manager for a dealership which sells almost a dozen brands including Mazda. I had never purchased a new car before, and after receiving our first re-redesigned 2014 Mazda3's, I knew that I had to have one. I will make a post soon after I take some more pictures of this thing. Just had it undercoated and paint-protected (didn't pay for the warranty, just the product) and so it should really look good in photos now. :p

Knowing a thing or two about what cars are available these days and having driven them quite a lot over the years, it is a new thing for me to be excited about a car. However, this machine has made me fall in love with not only the brand, but the community who follows them. :)

Thanks man, yeah looking forward to seeing some pics of yours as well. I'm super happy with my purchase. This car meets all of my expectations so far and then some. I knew after owning my protege that my next car would be a mazda. I love the brand as well. Welcome to the forum by the way,
