2003 Mazdaspeed Protege
Hi all. Just purchased a yellow 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege. I've loved these things ever since driving one at Mazda Rev-It-Up last summer. Couldn't find a new orange one, so I went with yellow (wife liked how the stitching on the seats matched the exterior color).

My plans are pretty simple with some minor stereo upgrades, clunk fix, all-season tires with different rims for winter, some shifter & exhaust bushings, cruise control, some guages (boost, egt, & oil pressure), and whatever will kill that friggin' turkey sound without giving my dealer an excuse to void the warranty!

Just wanted to say hello and thanks to all of those who have contributed to this site as knowledge about this car will help me enjoy it so much more.

Welcome, you have pix of the rx--7?
HAHA nice sig! I ain't never messed up nobody's couch like that. Yeah I messed up their couch.

Oh and I recomend AutoMeter's pro-lite or phantom series guages. Thats what I have. They also make the pillar pod to hold them in. Good stuff.

EWWWW not another Yellow MSP! Welcome aboard! hehe jflo said "pics of your wife's turbo toy". Is it me or does that sound funny:D.

Welcome Aboard

Welcome, this site has a lot of useful information about our cars. Just try to do some searching.

I hope you enjoy your speed. Lot's of fun.

Hello and welcome. Nice list of cars you have there. I doubt you want to try it, but just in case I thought you might like to know that it has been said that with some relatively minor modifications you could drop the V6 out of your SVT Contour into the MSP. Make for one hell of a unique car. You know just if you get bored on a weekend or something. lol.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to post some pics of my "fleet" when the little Mazdas come out of storage this spring. They're both asleep under their blankets in the garage. The interior of the RX-7 is apart right now as I'm repainting some interior trim pieces (stupid flaking coating from Mazda!).

I'm installing a Greddy turbo kit on the Miata once it warms up along with a Saab 900 Intercooler and MSD w/Bipes mod. I'm hoping for 170whp and a little more self-control from the wife. She thinks she's Michael Schumacher in that thing!

Definately going with a full a-pillar guage pod and the autometer pro-lite guages.

BTW, anyone know if the stock rims on my Speed would fit my RX-7? The hyper blacks would look great on my black FD, and I need to put some all-season rubber on the Speed.

A turbo CSVT motor in the Speed would be great fun with 300whp and loads of torque, but my mod money generally goes to the Miata and RX-7.
