Rocks...
Curbs...
Scratches....

It only seems like it is such a short time before your car goes from pristine, to well, less than that.

I got my 2007 MS3 on Feb 15th. Today...while driving in the horrible road conditions of downtown Balitmore (voted one of the worst in the nation) and trying to avoid the insane traffic --- cut a corner...scratched a rim. My fault I know. You can barely see it too...but I know it is there.

Exactly a month to the day before she is no longer a "virgin" car.

Anyone else? How long and what happened? Door get bumped / scratched in a parking lot, hit a curb, rock hit your windshield / chip some paint?

Yeah, I had the pleasure of having the windshield on my two month old car get hit with a big old rock, nice crack about a foot and a half long. Had to get it replaced, two days later I have a little chip in my new windshield from another f'ing rock. Also have quite a few chips off the front bumper and one on my hood (how the hell that happened I'll never know). Oh well, it's my daily driver so I know it's gonna get beat on, but it still sucks!

the first one hurts... (sad2) but you come to realize it will all be ok.. :)

my first major one.. a tree branch onto my drivers side A-pillar.. that one HURT.. let me find the thread..

All depends on the humidity...that's why they store a lot cars (especially vintage ones) out in places like Arizona. Give me a <20% Humidity for most of the year and your car will last a longer than you will....

I'm super paranoid every time I wake up since the person that parks next to me has a huge truck that they always back into the space. I just know one morning I will wake up and see a huge white scrape down the side.

Thats why anytime I get a new vehicle, I make a small scratch in an unnoticeable area just to get it over with. I take ownership of the pain.

My car still looks gorgeous after 11,000 km. But I expect some dings this year as it will be on the road much longer.

I had a door scratch on my passanger door, it almost got buffed out but like you said I still know its there. Chipped paint on the hood. I do a lot of high way driving on my way to my hockey games. :( makes me sad. This is my first new new car so I'm sure the sadness was intenseified.

You are t3h masochist!!

I found a tiny spot of paint on the rear bumper that had a bubble in it... So now it looks like a tiny meteor hit it. Other than that it perfect. (knock on wood) When i first got my P5 the 3rd day I had it someone put a 2 inch door ding in it. I wanted to hunt them down.

We had an icestorm about a week after I got mine. Couldn't park it in the garage because husband had been working on his Cobra. Husband was trying to be nice and get the ice off the windows the next day.....
Husband went to the car wash where the water was very warm and the rear window busted all to hell. The only thing that kept it in place is the tint. But I got it replaced for free through my insurance. I get one window a year. Then I had to get it retinted.
Now the only thing that is bugging me is the paint on the driver side mirror. I think a bird sat on it or something. I came out one day to go home from work and there was a big stream of crap running down that side and the mirror was all scratched up.
Oh yeah and there's a scratch shaped like a C that goes aroound my door handle. I think husband must have scratched it with something. I'm sure it can all be buffed out though.
