New MSP Part Hit the Market!!!

The muffler you removed dosent look anything like mine. My muffler is polished with RACING BEAT engraved on the side ?!?:wtf:

Me to.

Mine is highly polished with Racing Beat on it as well.
However, I will stll get this mod to get rid of 20-30lbs of weight.
Damn Greg you got a bad looking muffler on that early model car.

lol, guys, that is the racing beat muffler that came on mine as well but ours has MAZDASPEED on the tip.

JMS'MSP- there is no muffler nor is there a need for one with this system. The 90degree downpipe combined with (2) cats causes enough restriction to quiet the system down without one. My system carries that sound out to the rear of the car in an aggressive yet eye-pleasing fashion; eliminating the heavy stock muffler and gaining less restriction and more sound from our exhaust, a must for a sporty, turbo'ed tuner car of the MAZDASPEED's caliber.

I'd like to see a side by side of the two exhausts if it isn't any trouble...

Well s***!!

I was just out looking at it....and no "Racing Beat" logo on mine anywhere. hmmmm. (thought maybe it was under the dirt)

But; hear this! - Just to give you guys some idea how this pipe sounds now; I took co-workers out for rides. These are guys that are as anti-rice as it gets. They drive American V8s. They both thought the 'new' sound (not to mention - power!!!) was excellent. They were very impressed. And; the Boost?! I love it!

When you are downshifting, and hit 3rd gear; the sound is awesome! It simply; KICKS ASS!!!

Maybe I'm naive, but do we somehow remove the tip from the stock exhaust and add it to this product or does it come with its own?

No,,no! It comes with the tip; just like in my photos in this thread. The new tip is round. It's one piece. You take off one piece, and you put on one piece. No welding at all.

You said it Greg!!

The only thing the owner of the HSM Axle-back assembly will have to do is take off their old, heavy, quiet muffler...and install this new, lightweight, bad-ass sounding axle-back assembly!!! There is no cutting, welding, or modifying of any kind that needs to be done by the consumer. The whole swap should take about 15 minutes for the average Joe. 25-30 minutes for complete idiots but we dont have any of those among us :D

..well; there is Dexter to consider!!! (rofl) (chair) (rofl)

and me.................

ok, can i still use my old tip? Not that i really care which tip it is, just a question.

AGR#7, the Racing beat in engraved on the right, backside of the muffler. It has it on mine. Just clean your muffler and it should reveal a 'RacingBeat' wording on it.

Do you miss the word 'MAZDASPEED' imprinted on the side of your exhuast tip? I really like that touch from Mazda. But even with your mufflerless exhuast now, it looks like stock.
Now i can see how this weights on 6.2lbs because there's no muffler!

What is the piping made out of? It looks like it's rusting from the above pictures already. I hope you guys used stainless steel for this product. How difficult is it to remove the rusty old bolts? Damn, i think if i used a plyers on it, the bolt will just crack. It's soo rusty down there....

What you see that is rusty, is the Mazda side of the flanged area. There is no rust on the new piece. But yes; it does look really good, we think. As you can see; the tip is now round, and not oval like the original. But; it looks great!

I don't think the shop had any problem getting the original off. Like Corey was saying; it's about a 10-15 minute job swapping them out.

That's the beauty, isn't it?! You can be back to completely stock that quickly. And......wait 'till you hear it!!!

The material of the HSM Axle-back pipe assembly: Aluminized Steel w/chrome tip

I bet mine does say Racing Beat on the end. And; the MAZDASPEED logo is on the tip of mine. I always liked that....
..But I accept it the way it is now....... Gleefully!!!! (cheers)

What's in a name?

It looks to be decal of some kind on my tip so why couldn't you get another Mazdaspeed decal for the new tip?

Beotch!

See what you can find out. I thought the original 'MAZDASPEED' logo was etched in the tip.
