New MSP Owner In Richmond

Hey guys, I just got my mazdaspeed protege yesterday. I live in Richmond, anyone else here? I saw there was a meet not too long ago, maybe I can make it to the next one; need 1200 miles on the engine first though, gotta break 'er in. Well, I'm just saying hi and wondering if anyone else is here. I saw a spicy orange one on a road near my house a few months ago, but haven't seen it since.

I'm in Springfield. Congrats on the purchase. Next VA meet is coming up Nov. 1 at Spools (you can search for details). Hope to see you there. Also, a group of guys up in NoVA do track days, and they let me tag along. LOTS of fun.

richmond huh? the spool meet is real close to u, all u have to do is take it easy on the trip and u shouldnt have a prob, isnt too far and u wont be pushing ur engine... y 1200? the book saids 600 some, lol, i got about 5/6 of the way b4 i decided **** it and slammed it, havnt had a problem yet and thats at 22800 some miles later

My roommate works for a holiday inn express on the west end of Richmond, he said he can hook some of you up if you're coming from out of town and need a place to stay. If you're interested pm me and let me know, we'll be happy to help in any way that we can :)

Cirielle, have you found anywhere to do the flash? I talked to one guy at Whitten Brothers and he said he had no clue what it was... :(

I got it there just a week ago. If you talk to the counter people they have no clue at all. Just tell them you are bringing your car in the ECU flash that the Mazdaspeed Tech knows about it and that it has been done there before. Don't mention this board, but if they give you a problem, just mention that you know about 20 people who have gotten it done in VA alone! Also let them know that Brown's Mazda and Rosenthal Mazda in the DC area have done it too. If they have any questions about it then they should give their service dept. a call. It shuts them up real quick! Plus like I said, don't mention the message board. They will try to tell you that the internet is evil and that you can't believe everything you read!
When I took my car in about the middle of August, they tried to tell me that there was no such thing as hesitation. They shut up quickly when I produced my dyno with proof. It is all about proof. Just have all the info and they will do it. If you need to go to the ECU thread that is a sticky in the MSP section and quote the file name to them as well!

Check out Starbucks on Hugenot Road on Friday nights at 7:30 PM. Car gathering of the 20-early 30s crowd.

Brian! Congrats on the speed! Glad you finally ditched that understeering pig and went to a lighter chassis. Good buy!
