New Mazdaspeed Offering

The styling is boring as all hell....looks like a regular miata....as for lowering, clearly what they took pics of isn't lowered...there's a few inches between tire & wheel well. I think they have really dropped the ball here....it doesn't inspire me at all IMHO.

holy crackmonkey!!!. an IHI turbo and denso intercooler??? damn....i'm impressed. and jealous, especially about the turbo.

will u people stop posting the same link ? there's like 3 threads in the miata section. this is in the wrong section, too

Looks nice, although I agree the styling is a little boring since the miata is so old. A nice body kit will be nice.

Um its also alot more expensive then our MSP. If Mazda charged the same price for our MSP we would definately have better resualts.

their suspension specs dont make an reference to new springs...i guess they think stiffer shocks make the car lower? :wtf: nice either way...but my 6ft 275lbs frame aint fittin in a miata......guess its still a g35 in a few years :)

I'll almost guarantee that whatever is ACTUALLY made is very different from what is SUPPOSEDLY being made.
Both externally and internally.
Just MHO, but seeing the past few MSP/out of the norm concepts and what they ended up selling that would be my assumption. ie the mP3 had a CAI and some random other stuff before it was tapered down for actual sale. We really didn't hear too much about the MSP prior to sale since it was in the same skin as the MP3, but I'm sure the prototype probably had hardpipes and other goodies that never made it to production.

Also, wrong forum. :D

SOMEONE MOVE THIS THREAD !!! OR DELETE IT ! there's 2 other threads in the miata section !!!!!!

HAHAHA...

I'll say it again here.

The Miata is targetted at a different crowd than the Protege. The styling of the Miata is always understated for that reason.

And the BP motor is more robust stock than the FS motor, hence more boost and power than the MSP.

By the way, Mazdaspeed kept this all in-house this time. They didn't get Calloway to design a cheesy set up like the poor MSP people got.

My mother has a 02 Miata. I almost dislocated my hip trying to get in and out. (me 6'3" 270lbs) It definately needed the power increased.

yeah !!!!!!! why do u think people like flyin' miata sell their turbo kits for miatas without internals !?!? 'cause the BP can handle that ! 12psi on the 1.6L and 10psi on the 1.8L. what turbos r they running...i forget, but they're pretty damn nice.

I think Mazda took the cheese and stuffed it in the MSP after Callaway was through. I know there were hardpipes in the car I saw a pic of in OCT 2002. Mazda just went and ****** it up afterwards.
I love my car but WHY THE **** did Mazda feel the need to take away our hardpipes? Don't give me that crash worthy crap like a bit of pipe is going to somehow make my car substantially less safe..plaa-ease.

How much are hard-pipe kits?? Yeah, would you have paid an extra $300 some odd dollars for the car if it had pipes from the factory?

How many factory turbo'd cars actually come with hard chrage pipes? Not very many that I have seen.
