New Mazda5 owner - liking it so far!!

Fellow zoom-zoomers,
I bought my first Mazda, a Mazda5 from Carmax last weekend. It is a 2006 Mazda5 Sport Metallic Red(?) color. It has 8500miles on it. Overall, I am impressed with the car so far.
I talked to a local dealer here (Munday Mazda, FM 1960 and I45 in Houston) to get the 7500 mile service done and he quoted me $89.99. I was like whoa!!! Apparently this would be a 35 minute service where he also said that they would be adding something to the fuel filtration system to keep the injectors clean. Hehe, if the Mazda website doesn't call for it I am not getting it done.

I presume you all have got this service done. Could you please let me know how much you paid for it?

I will post pics of my Mazda5 soon.

Best Regards
Gireesh

Welcome, and no my dealership did not offer the $3.00 can of fuel injector cleaner for $20.00 in my 7,500 mile service special deal. Then they wonder why people don't trust the dealerships.

Welcome to the club. You'll find bunch of knowledgeable guys around here (drive2)

For the services, I usually go for the 5K services only, nothing else. I believe the 10K service costed me around $65 or so. Includes all the regular checks, tire rotation, oil and filter, blah blah...

No, silly question, Isn't that CarMax guarantees a serviced, inspected car when they sell it? (huh). Your car is almost new, yet I would request CarMax a maintenance log or so before servicing it

7,500 mile service? Sounds like it should be an oil change, tire rotation, and out the door. Not $90 freekin bucks :)

Welcome to the family! Zoom-Zoom
