I just got my Mazda3 this week. Its a Silver Automatic Sedan. Im curious about the vents in the back near the rear windshield. My salesman told me they were pressure vents for when you shut the doors so that the pressure doesn't cause your ears to pop. Anyone familiar with that? Also, I had a problem with rail dust, I'm having to take the car back to the dealer to get the paint treated. Has anyone else had this problem. Other than the rail dust, I love this car! (rockon)

break dust? i have that problem too on the rear wheels and it's pretty bad. just have to wipe them off occasionally and you'll be fine. heard though if you leave it untreated, it becomes a pain in the ass to get off.

our rear brake pads suck or something because we get a lot more dust on the back then we do on the front. ya just wipe them off when you can or else it will build up and be a little harder to get off.

..now I see...

I thought it was just my imagination with the brake dust....but seeing you guys with the same prob. makes me feel alittle better....

Well, first time I washed my car, I noticed little specs on the paint, what looked like rust. I did a little research on the net and found out it was what they call rail dust, little specs of hot metal that get lodged in the paint when the car is transported by rail. I called the dealership and they confirmed it. They are supposed to be fixing the paint next week. (blah)
