New Mazda Owner in Japan

Hey everyone. I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I just got a Mazda Demio Skyactiv in May, and so far it has been a real pleasure to drive. The mileage is insane. I've put about 3300km on it in two months so far.

I just wanted to meet some other Mazda owners as well.

Welcome, over there what Skyactive engine do they put in it?

They put in the Skyactiv G 1.3 and CVT transmission. It's not a power house, but it's a fun car to drive. Once I find a place to post some photos, I'll share them.

Welcome to the forum. How much power and torque does that 1.3 make? Also, how high does it rev? I'm just curious how the more modern motor compares to the 1.5 MZR we have in the US.

I think this article from Mazda covers it. I think it's only available here in Japan at the moment, but they may start making them for elsewhere in the future.

That's more torque than I expected for a gas engine. Pretty cool. Must be a hoot to drive around with all that torque.

Yeah, it's got pretty good torque. It really zooms when I need it to. I'll post some pictures when I get some more time here. For now you can see the two I've uploaded to the garage.

I'm not a performance kind of guy. I bought the car to maximize mileage. And so far I'm getting Prius C levels of mileage. 50 MPG so far average.
