New Mazda "blue" Paint

It looks like Mazda is working on a new Blue paint that is based on the Soul Red paint process, allowing for different shades of blue depending on the lighting. Maybe this will come when the next gen CX-5 is announced early next year.

Cool! I was hoping for a Soul Blue or green.

When the MY2013 CX-5 was introduced in 2012, I rushed right out and bought one in the 'signature' Sky Blue Mica color. That color was only in the palette for a couple of years and it surprises me to this day how few I see on the road. It was, for its time, a spectacular color to my eye, but buyers were much more interested in black, grey silver and white. Boring!

Realmente estaba atrapado en el azul eterno; tenía que tenerlo. Casi parece un poco morado a la luz del día. Oscuro en días oscuros. Me encanta, pero espero que este nuevo color no funcione como lo hizo Ford en los Mustang de finales de los 90.

That's an interesting development from Mazda. A paint that can subtly change shades based on lighting conditions could make for some very attractive color options. Fingers crossed we start to see more details on the planned color soon.
