New guy.. Here's my offical intro.

Hey all.. Just thought I'd introduce myself...

I've been around the Rx7 community, esp here in DFW for awhile, but now I've got a Protege5 as well.

I bought it used off a guy in Plano, not sure if he's on the board or not, but I doubt it... Anyway here's my stuff.

2002 black P5 base, 5spd
Lowerd an inch or so (not sure what springs yet)
B&M shifter
Some loud muffler (proly gonna go)
some kenwood stero w/ subs
Injen Intake
Lots of a-pilar gagues (also prolly gonna go)

and oh.... IT'S EVEN GOT SQUIRTER BLINKEYS! (definately gonna go)
oh, and ya can't forget the stick on hoodpins... (gonna go)

that's about it...

Hey at least its not a forest green neon with fake purple disk brake rotor covers to cover up drum brakes!

Not sure if anyone has seen those before? At my local Canadain Tire they sell a bunch of crap geared towards import tuners or to domestic car owners trying to look like imports!

Nothing like moding your car with:
-no fear decals
-fake euro antena
-fake disk brake covers
-flashing tire valve caps
-oh an my fav. dual white racing stripes!

I'm also a newbie, so what up everyone- I've been watching this forum for about six months, figured it was about time to get active. I came from the h20 cooled VW world and have been really impressed with this ride. rx7gslse I agree with big ben- that thread cracked me up! Minus all your "gonna go" items your ride looks just like mine. As always mine is always under construction awaiting the next mod-being broke doesn't help. Looks like you got a grate place to start.
btw sirnuke I've seen your intros and I would love to dig into that beer fridge right now- work sucks

yup... stick on hood pins... Those came of last night already (quite easily I woudl like to add)

After driving it around last night I've discoved that this guy was a big fan of lights...

My high beams are blue and don't really do DICK, so does anyone have the stock part # for thos bulbs, or suggestions for what would work good/better?

2nd, the rear turn signal bulbs; Yeah, instead of being orange they're like hyper-white and damn near blinded my friend behind me when they came on.. Anyone know the p/n for those? (gotta go before I get arrested!)

Last but not least... You know the little map light bulbs inside the car? Yeah thy're red... I felt like I could have been driving around in AirWolf or something. Probably cool if you're looking for ambiance w/ your 16 yr chica, but seeing as I'm old enough to have my own place, I'd rather be a boring old fuddy-duddy and just read my map (or the 500 page manual to the stereo as I was tying to do...)

yeah.. it's legal limit for tint. Texas has a lot of sun, so you can do that

I actually have the receipt for that, so I know what was supposedly put on.

The one I'm trying to figure out now is this goofy alarm thingy. It's frikken complicated and I didn't get the manual. I figured out model it is, and it apparantly does all sorts of stuff. So far al I know how to do it set it off.

Thats funny......poor protege.....but the painted callipers look not to bad. You're right though, you gotta change those lights and signals.

Welcome, we have been trying to do a DFW meet for awhile, some guys from the MX3 forum are meeting this 28th of Dec at a mall in Lewisville and they were trying to get this group to meet also. There are plenty of good Proteges in the area, just a matter of getting together.

I sit in a cube all day & don't do a lot, so you'll probably see more of me... I've got nearly 3000 posts on www.rx7club.com as of now....

I really don't intend to throw lots of $$ at this car though. I've got another one for that. I'vejust been trying to live a little cheaper so I sold my truck and cut my car payment in half...

Besides, I like Mazdas.... They may not be the quickest, but hey sure are "zoomy"

I think the exhaustyou have is the APEXN1 exhaust. Not cheap. You could sell that and get something for your RX7

I was thinking about putting some kind of super bright white bulb in my reverse lights cause seeing out through the limo dark tint at night is pretty difficult and I could use as much light back there as possible.

welcome rx7gslse. I'm in the opposite situation as yours. I've had my 2000 Protege since, well, 2000, and I just got my 91 FC back in November. 2 totally different cars, guess which one is more fun to drive

sadly, my FC's battery's dead and has been sitting in the parking lot for the past week and half the recent bad weather we've had here didn't allow me to get it up and running either

I want my FC running again! :'(

hmm... tat could be cool... How exactly woudl one go about determining exactly what brand that is? This one doesn't appear to have any markings on it externally. It does have this little insert that I added and it really cut down on the droning on the highway... I may end up just keeping it. Still undecided.

If it's actually worth something -> yoink!

the red paint has been removed from the Mazda emblems.
Found out the alarm was ~$500 installed..

2 x 8" RF subs & a 400W punch? AMP. (very very boomy, needs adjustment)
