hey guys, and girls. Names Ben. I am located in RI. Im currently looking at a 09 MS3 Touring edition. Just wanted to see what you guys had, and what kind of hop ups and such you did to them. Also the power that they put out. As much as all the bad things that you've encountered. i wish to pick one up in may/june, after i sell my current car. any help would be appreciated.

Hey welcome to the forum. Since you are a new england guy I'll recommend checking out the NEPOC section of the forum, some more local guys from there.

The best things to start with is to replace the stock air box with a short ram or a cold air intake. That alone makes good power. Then you will probably want to change the rear motor mount because its pretty sloppy stock.

The horror stories someone will probably bring up is that the tranny mount is pretty weak if you like to beat on the car. So there has been some issues with that side of the motor dropping. The seals in the turbo are pretty weak as well and some smoke stock and some start to smoke after a downpipe install.

There will be some rattles in the interior but overall there arent too many bad things about this car.

As of yet the threshold of the motor in stock bottom end form is about 350whp. Big turbos have led to about 60-70% death rate of the bottom end if left stock.

That shouldn't scare you away from the car, its relatively new platform and there are still bugs in the tuning to be worked out.
