New face in the croud!

After a month or more of reviewing and comparisons, I go to pick up my new MS3 from the dealership tomorrow (if it arrives that is).

It's been about 7 years since my last sports car so I'm quite elated about the whole idea of having one again!

One question I do have to you all. I'm thinking of picking up the cool air filter that Mazda offers and having it installed before I take delivery. My concern is that it might not be up to standards compared to others of its quality. Google search doesn't seem to bring up anything with specs on it. Some if any info on this product would be greatly appreciated.

There is a stop sale on the Mazdaspeed CAI right now. Do a search for more info. I don't think there have been any updates yet. You can try but chances are the parts dept won't sell it to you right now. That being said I finally installed mine last night after sitting on it for 3 months waiting for the weather to warm up. Results are awesome. I'm very happy with it so far. Sounds great, I can really hear the turbo now, and the power gains in the middle of the powerband are definitely noticeable.

The MS CAI is a quality product. But it caused some cars to lean out so they have pulled it until they fix the problem or come out with a reflash. I love my 08.5 black mica, and I know you will to.

One thing you should take my advice on is that you should get the corksport rear motor mount inserts. They fix the shift lash and make the car more enjoyable to drive. And after the second day ZERO vibrations.

The Mazdaspeed CAI is a quality part. In fact my guess is most people would recommend it or the Cobb SRI as far as intakes go. The benefit with the MS CAI is that you won't have to worry about any warranty hassle if you have the dealer install it, but alas, you're going to have to wait a little for it...

Thanks .. that kinda makes me sad with the news :(

Went with the sport Black int. and ext.

Yea, the motor mount actually from what I've read on the forums sounds like a very wise and good investment.

Welcome to the forums..If you can find a cobb sri intake go with that or wait till mazda starts selling there intake again. You could always goto the market section here on the forum and get a used cai.

You know, it's kinda funny . . . I just ordered my MS CAI yesterday from a dealer here in Montreal . . .

When I asked about the "stop sale" the dealer checked and said "I don't see anything . . . we can still order it".

In any case, you can wait to see if the MS CAI goes back on sale or go with the COBB. I'm going with the MS because I am a warranty spazz.
