Just checking in after going on Saturday. I didn't bring my camera so no photos. MS3 and hard-top Miata are hot. I got to sit in the car and put up the top! I actually fit and its nice and cozy in there...that's my pick for the show but Amanda still likes the Mazda5.

MS3 interior is decent but I like the optional Mazda3 black leather and the seats are the same design (just like MSP) so lateral support won't compare to cars like the EVO and STI. The wheels look nicer in person than in photos. They have some depth to them unlike the MS6 wheels.

Other than that, I wasn't really impressed with any of the new models to the point where I would consider buying one. Many of the sporty cars were too uncomfortable for someone my height. The Colbalt SS had seats designed for a 14yr old girl. The Tiburon still doesn't have enough leg and headroom. Same story with the Scion tC. The 4-door Civic Si was nice though. I'd never see myself buying a Honda but they do a good job with the interior.

As for the little hatches, I think the Suzuki Reno was probably the best option considering the price (sales woman said we could get one for under 11K). It had more standard options than the Nissan Versa, which had absolutely no legroom. Even the Chevy Aveo was better in that department but the Aveo interior was very plastic and you can tell it will rattle at speeds above 40mph. Legroom was an issue again with the Honda Fit. Granted these are small cars and I'm not expecting them to feel like a caddy, but I had no problem getting comfortable in the Toyota Corolla, Toyota Yaris, or Scion xB/xA.

So in conclusion, I still like my Protege5. The hardtop miata is nice and the MS3 is tempting but I can always wait a year and get one of those cheap. After all, dealerships are still trying to unload 06 MS6s. Amanda doesn't understand my fascination with the Miata...she doesn't think its practical. Of course it isn't! And what other time before I turn 50 will I have a chance to own a 2-seater? Maybe I should lease one... hmm... I'll ponder that for a while.

Guys, I won't be able to make Saturday, I'm oncall and my wife just informed me my sister is coming to visit. It's going to be a long weekend.

Me too...there may be a reason...but everything else on the car is top notch. I think I mistyped $8K....you are correct, the ad says $7K. Even better!

Yea, still going. Dan and I are going to carpool and head straight up RT.3 to the show, so we will meet you there around 11:00.

Something wrong with your plumbing Mark? Seriously, you should have a doctor check that out. It's really not a DIY project.

You have my cell# still? I have yours.
