Just got an 08' CX-9 GT in Copper Red w/ Sand Interior and just loving my new Mazda. It took 3 months to finally get my car delivered from Hiroshima Japan, but it was well worth the wait. My 2 yr old loves watching the DVD in the back seat and my wife feels that the Blind Spot Monitor was a great option to have since she hasn't gotten used to driving such a big vehicle. Speaking of big vehicles, it took an entire day to rearrange the garage just to accomodate the larger dimensions of the CX-9.
Some quick wish list items and thoughts after two full weeks of use:
* What's up with the 16-bit Nintendo style Nav Display in 2008? My Palm Treo uses TomTom and it has better resolution and functionality than the factory Nav on the CX-9.
* Doors don't lock automatically after going above a certain speed.
* Wish they put the lock/unlock buttons on the rear passenger door handles.
* Where is the trip computer? Australian version has it.. why can't ours?
* Large vehicle, but relatively smallish center console.. My old Accord had more space and storage under the center armrest.
* A small dropdown mirror from the sunglass holder (a la Honda Odyssey/Pilot) to check on the kids in the back would had been nice.
One thing that my wife noticed when we test drove a CX-9 GT, was that when the ignition was shutoff, the heads up Dash Display showed a message, "Good Bye". Our CX-9 doesn't do that.. do other people's CX-9 show a message when starting/shutting it off? (scratch)
None of these items were dealbreakers when we decided to buy the CX-9. It was hands down the best CUV in the market that not only look great, but it also fit our needs perfectly.
Another happy Zoom Zoom owner! (drive)
