This manifold was a one-off custom piece fabricated by ToxicFabrication. They specialize in evos and hondas, but this guy does custom work as well. After a long wait for the flanges and several different piping layouts, this is the finished piece. All i can say is, this is an awesome piece of craftsmanship!!!

I hate to cover up the piece but it will be coated before going on the car along with a downpipe and some other misc. parts. Then it's off to the dyno for a tune!

*updated thread with pictures of the manifold coated...see a couple posts down :)*

after i got the manifold, i brought it to work and put it in our tumbler polisher. this is how the manifold looks like after spending a day in the polisher.

*update pics of manifold now coated!*

got the manifold back from my company's coating department late this week. finally found some time to post pictures. this is not your ordinary ceramic coating/paint. rather, it falls under a category of MCrAlY coatings (some crazy aluminum-nickel-cobalt-chromium-yttria-stabilized coating) that is applied by a plasma spray gun. specifically, this is a Sulzer Metco 461 coating. whether or not it works, who knows? but hey, i got it done free so i'm not complaining :) comments welcome!

That thing looks like a solid piece! Very beefy!! I wanted it but dont got $1500 alittle out of my price range for now! lol

Need dyno numbers! But I like the bare metal look the most. Nice piece

the car dyno'ed 230hp/253tq with the mods in my sig. this was on a dynodynamics dyno. also tried a mustang dyno and got nearly the same results.

need to address a CEL issue first, then new tires (picked up three nails...wtf???), and then to the dyno for a tune.

thanks for the comments everyone!

Do you have a stock downpipe? Those numbers are low, even for an unmodded MS3.

yes that dyno was with a stock downpipe. i was hoping for a little more too :( to be fair, i've seen base dyno runs from anywhere between 216hp-240hp (depending on the dyno, weather conditions, correction factors, etc.). it was the middle of summer here in texas when i went and it was about 90 degF with probably 80% humidity. we'll see what i hit once I go back and have the car tuned.

and i guess i should have posted this graph instead :p

the manifold is in along with a bunch of other mods! still some things to take care of before i head to the dyno again. it's getting there slowly but surely. i'll post pics later.

first impressions, holy crap!! (wow) even on my OTS stage 1 map, 2nd gear has become completely useless now. the car sounds amazing now with the new downpipe and manifold, though it's not much louder than it was. and that's a good thing. i was hoping to find time to try out some stage 2 maps this weekend but i don't think i'll have time now. maybe during the week....

forgot to mention, that transmission mount makes a huge difference! zero wheel hop now. even when i had the two other AWR mounts, i'd get horrible wheel hop in first and second and the DSC would kick in and kill the power. now, only the stability control kicks in but the power stays constant.

Glad to see the Cobb DP in there! Your dyno numbers should see a nice bump, along with tuning.
