New-B Q's about dealer service

So I bought my 5 about 3 weeks ago. I haven't had a new(ish) car since 1992, when I bought a year-old Miata. The 5 I got is a 2006 and apparently it still has some warranty left. I was wondering how hard it is getting recall and/or warranty stuff done to cars if I'm not the original buyer. I honestly don't remember how it worked with my last car since it was 16 years ago, and the Miata never needed any dealer servicing while I had it. Have any of you dealt with this before, good or bad? I've been cruising this site finding out stuff like the door recall and the tire wear issue (my 5 got new "shoes" just before I bought it, but they absolutely suck in the snow so it's getting more anyway).
Anyway, "TIA" and I'm enjoying the forum.

Once you've got a portion of the factory warranty left any Mazda dealer should honor the recalls that have to be done.....I think there was the shield on the exhaust and the sway-bar bushings.

It should not be an issue even if you are not the original buyer. Just to play safe register your car in the Mazda Web Site (US or Canada) as for sure the original owner will not forward you any future recall info. Once in there (based on the VIN) you can see the recalls needed (and already applied to your car).

I'd go with antlind, they are honored (or the government comes and gets Mazda if not ;))

i was the 2nd owner of a 91 rx7. in 2000 with about 112k miles on it, i took it in because the auto seatbelt came off track and found out it was part of a recall. they took care of it no questions asked, no money out of my pocket. the dealership even paid for my rental.

Yeah that be the case with my brother-in-law who bought a 88-89 (??) Nissan 300 ZX several years ago and it developed an exhaust manifold leak. He took it to the dealership and they replaced both exhaust manifolds under recall. Apparently the 3.0L Nissan V-6s of that era had a major problem with their exhaust manifolds.
Bottom line, if it's a recall the dealer is obliged to fix it....If it's covered under manufacturer warranty they will fix it regardless of how many previous owners.
