Never Let Your Girlfriend Drive You Car!!!

i feel you all, my gf has totaled 5 out of the last 5 cars she's owned. so not just no but hell no she can't drive my car.

My wife is the one who doesn't want to drive my Pro... she is afraid she will do something to it. So that's why I'm not concerned when she actually does drive it. I know she will be extra careful with it.

Plus, I just got her a new car (VW Wagon) a few weeks ago, and she treats that car as if it was made of gold. She treats it better than I treat mine.

When she took it to the detail shop to get it washed and waxed, she kept looking at it, to make sure the detail guys were doing their job right. :)

s*** i wouldnt even let that chick LOOK at my car in fear of ******* something up.

I let my girl drive my other car a few years back and she Taco'd the hell out of two of my rims. It wasn't even driveable. They were aftermarket rims, so that gave me an excuse to go bigger. She came in balling her eye's out, I had to go to my parents and get all my old rims, and roll on them for a couple months.

You should feel lucky it wasn't worse!

I don't let my girlfriend TOUCH my cars.
She has no concept of being careful around it or in it. She already scratched up the passanger side console for not wanting to look down while fastening her seat belt.

She belongs in the POS 96 civic DX.

All you have to do to judge if you should let someone drive your car, is look at theres.

LOL, my wife's got her 94 civic DX, which was showroom mint and only 75K on it. It's trashed. Bought it last december. The second time I let her drive the P5 she ground second horribly. No more drivin' the pro. She can drive my turbo stang, could care less...no pro tho. :D

Okay, those wet cat pics are hilarious.

Sorry to hear your girls are messing up your cars. I liked Ljspeed's idea of having a little "how-to" tutorial. It's what I'd do if I were to let anyone drive the car. (WHO AM I KIDDING??!! As if I would do that.)

Some people aren't into cars, though, and you may not be able to change that "it's just a car, what's the big deal?" mentality. Maybe you can tell her it's like you scuffing the leather on the side of her new Prada bag if she's into labels, or putting a scratch in her original Miles Davis LP if she's into music. If you hear "But that's different! It's Prada!" then tell her "my car is MY Prada, honey." A little perspective.

To the rest of us, there is a difference between driving Dad's old Datsun B210 and the new MSP. We DO know how to drive a car and handle a stick. :D Gosh how I love to drive this car.

Heathen, I'll let you wash my cat 5 times for those seats....

What's your cat look like? I might be interested. OMG this is just getting so low brow LOL

my gf doesnt know how to drive a stick... she doesnt even like to drive (mother's a nurse in the er, gets stories all the time im sure), but she like... takes off her shoes and sits indian style and s*** in the seat. it annoys me to hell and back, and i tell her, and she laughs :| she puts her feet up on the dash sometimes, and touches the windows too much!

but it's all worth it for a little roadside assistance ;)

I feel your pain. One day, my girlfriend had to take my car because hers was in the shop. When I got it back, I heard a thumping sound on my tires. Look... I don't know what the hell she did, but she ended getting a bolt into the rear tire...head first!!! The hole on my tire was BIG. I was so pissed she didn't even touch the car for 5 months. Afterwards, she drove the car like a pro. She learned dude.

To make matters worse, I had to have my tire fixed right after I had my wisdom teeth (yes tEEth) pulled out. It was awful!

My arguement: You are not on my insurance.... End of discussion. ;)
That was always my argument of not driving my then boyfriend/now husband's car. I told him I didn't feel comfortable driving his car because if something happened he would get upset. Nothing ever happened and before we married he got insurance that had me on the car. He still doesn't mind me driving his car, though I hate his car!!! (He has a Spec V). I just am not as comfortable in his car as I am in mine.
The only time that I said he couldn't drive my car anymore is after he decided to let one of his friends drive my car. His friend did not respect my ride like my man/ride deserved. (This was my old car a Subaru Impreza).
My husband feels safe with me when I am driving, even when I was learning stick shift. He is great for morale and superb for esteem!
