NEPOC Off Topic Thread

Wow, everyone has made some excellent points here.
I do think the "Heirarchy" approach allows for less conflict.
We can have a number of sub-clubs under the "New England" umbrella.
Nobody's feelings can get hurt and it promotes diversity and a broader community.

HOWEVER,
I am attracted to the simplicity of one club, one forum. I just don't think it's in the cards....YET.

It will only be a matter of years before the Protege base of this club dwindles down to nothing. There will be a turn over of new owners but 5 years from now the Protege name will be all but forgotten.

Keeping the name at NEPOC restricts the member base to the current set of owners and previous owners and then the very limited number of new recruits.

I hear you. And I DO agree.
So if these new members are more comfortable being NEMOC members from non-NEPOC clubs/sites, so be it.

I guess I could learn to live with a new name, but we gotta get somethin with a little more PIZAZZ...

Or perhaps we should just leave NEPOC as is...and start pushing NEMOC to the boards. Pretty much every NEPOC meet is a NEMOC meet these days anyway so when we advertise on other boards we can just call it NEMOC. Of course I don't know how that will affect logo copyrights

haha no im not affraid of people. You guys looked like you were pretty much done. I honestly dont think you guys need to change your name. The NEPOC members I met the other day were more than happy to welcome non-Protege owners. I guess I cant speak for everyone, but I'm not gonna cry if NEPOC doesnt change its name, I will cry though if I dont get invited to your meets I think you guys should keep doing what your doing. Keep your name and just let other Mazdas tag along once in a while.

DFWMazdas ran into the same situation you guys have.

We used to be DFWProteges but we changed 2 years ago to adopt the new 6's and 3's and some of our RX7 buddies. Its been probably one of the best decisions we have made. Alot of our Protege owners now have families and other responsibilities to attend to on a regular basis which has caused the Protege numbers to drop while the 6's and 3's grow steadily. Currently our group is about 50/50 mix on new models vs. old models.

we were talking about dinner possibly next wednesday, but that might not be a good night for me. i have to talk with astral and get a night and we will let you all know. we are thinking acapocos in framingham! we have neet there before (rt9/pike).

on-topic: i like NEPOC and i don't own any mazda's anymore. it will not bother me whatever happens with the name of our club.

I've already got a little one that was like $10 at ToysRus but I think it is a silver supra. I originally bought the red rx-8 (before everyone got into the VR craze) but it broke so I returned it. Go figure (dunno). The cats love it. I drift around on the hardwood floors and they chase after it.

Heh...this is the NEPOC off topic thread. Actually that would be cool to have. Just a place to shoot the breeze discussing anything and everything. When I was a Team Integra member, we had a thread called the Garage Hangout.

Nope. NEPOC is OG even though I am no longer around for this stuff.

NEPOC had a reputation when it started that was badass.

Keep it and form another club that can be a catch all.
