Needing new (wider) tires to replace my stocks.

My potenzas 050A's are on their last leg and won't last a few more weeks. Anyone know if i can put 225-40 or dare I even 235-40's on my stock 08 ms3 wheels? 215-45 seems a little thin. I believe the stock wheel size is 18" x 7.5"....

I was considering ordering those new potenza re-11's.... anyone have any luck with those? the treadwear is 180 AA and if i could get 15k miles outta them i'd be pretty satisfied.

Yes, you can fit a 225/40 on the stock wheel without a problem.

Stock size is 18 X 7. I run 225/40s, they fit fine. I wouldnt go 235 on a 7" rim though.

Time for some RE-11's! I ran 225/45's without any rubbing, stock ride height though.

I would also check out the Hankook ventus V12 evo tire. People seem to be really happy with them, and they received a great review in car and driver.

I'm planning on getting them in stock size when my tires finally go (I have 12k on them, and probably a few months left). Also, they can be had online for just over $100 each plus shipping.
