Need suggestions for qualify aftermarket remote start

For my '13 Touring, standard key. I'd like something that can also utilize smartphone if not cost prohibitive and can help sound horn, etc when trying to find car. i did some searches here but didn't find many mentioned.

The factory one is what I would suggest but it doesn't integrate with a phone.
Are you looking for one that would use an app to start the car instead of a fob?

DEI, makers of Viper, Python, Clifford, and several other brands are one of the largest makers of aftermarket alarms and remote start systems... and have smartphone apps to go with them. I would look at some of those.

There is almost no support from any of the aftermarket companies for the CX9, while most of them provide T harnesses and somewhat plug and play solutions for most other vehicles, installing a remote starter on a CX9 is such a hack job I decided to go with the factory RS because it was made for the CX9. I ordered a crimestopper RS and fortin bypass and it was somewhat intimidating and labor intensive, and Im an aircraft electrician! If you can follow instructions you can install the factory remote starter yourself.

A friend of mine does remote start installs on the side. He used to work at a car stereo place before moving on to other opportunities but still does installs on the side for extra money. He swears by the CompuStar brand. Lifetime warranty, says as long as I can bring him back some part of the remote he can even warranty those. I've had him do installs on 3 vehicles now and have never been back for any warranty work.

He just did one in the 2012 CX-9 Touring I picked up for the wife a couple weeks ago. Took him about 30 minutes to do the install with me standing there shooting the sh** with him. I went with just a basic 1000' CS-800 one way system but it does support the "Drone" module which gives you smartphone support.

I use to work with an engineer back in 1993 designing remote starts for Lexus, and other vehicles. The installation of these systems are not complicated, the biggest requirement (other than Features you want) is that the brand system you purchase has on board relays that can handle the Quantity and Load from the ignition switch, and the ability to over ride factory alarms, all within a self contain Unit, and the Range from the vehicle to control it.
