Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know this thread has been done before but don't yell at me about it m'kay? My car needs some new oil and I was just wondering what you all recommend, what you are using, its thickness, etc. etc...

My break in oil has done its duty (usa) and it's time to replace it.

p.s. I would have made this into a poll but that would be waaaaaaay too long and this is easier.

Thanks y'all!!!

mobil one full syn ftw....but if ya can't find it....anyother good full syn...done

Thanks for the BG MOA tip, I was thinking 10W-30 might be too thick for here but then I noticed you lived in TX.

My first ideas were Mobil1, Pennzoil Platinum, or Royal Purple but I'm no oil connoisseur so I have no idea what else is good.

IDK about the ups or downs to a full synthetic or half synthetic or whatever else they're called.

I use Mobil1. Change it every 5000km (3100 miles).

Our cars use 5W20.

Mobil1 is pretty cheap and you can find it anywhere.

Let me know if you DO USE the BG MOA. On my 2nd oil change, at 10k miles, I will use it once again. I will also use the Chevron 10w-30. My car runs great in the heat and humidity in deep south Texas (Mexico/South Padrey Island) area. At 15k Miles, I will not use the BG MOA. I will only use it every 10k miles. In the near future, I will get an Air Intake for my GT Hatch. That will open some things up and make my happier with a lil more power. (bump)

yeah i use 10w30....what is the bg moa stuff guys?????????????

and it's way to hot especially during the summer for 5w20....although i have used zero weight during the winter and fun times....good stuff....

Ok, so I got 10W-30 made by Chevron, Pennzoil, or Mobil1. Or something else?

BG MOA BG MOA prevents oxidation and thickening of engine oil under even the most severe stop-and-go, high temperature driving conditions. It fortifies all qualities of engine oil to provide superior long-lasting engine protection and helps maintain optimum engine performance. BG MOA keeps piston ring belts, hydraulic lifters and other engine components clean to help extend engine life and reduce costs of operation. It is compatible with both synthetic and petroleum-base oils.
The Thin Film Oxidation Uptake Test (TFOUT), ASTM Test Method D4742, proves BG MOA’s remarkable resistance to oxidation by more than 200% longer than six major brands of SL quality oil. At the conclusion of the API Sequence IIIF Engine Test‚ a major brand, high-quality reference oil barely passed the 80-hour test with a viscosity increase of 255 percent. At 80 hours, another brand of oil fortified with BG MOA had a viscosity increase of only 57 percent. At the conclusion of the triple-length, 240-hour test, it was still well within the viscosity limits with an increase of only 198 percent.

Haahahaahaha!!
Well it's either the Mazdaspeed CAI or an SRI, whatever comes out to be better in the long run.

yeah....with full syn you can run safly to 5k miles man....if you do a lotta highway...7500 miles no issue.....a lot better for the motor

well hell anything's better than pure stock...DUH...cork soaker
Anything's better than the damn tuba under my hood!!! That s*** is more restricting than Hillary Clinton's snatch!!!!

Full synthetic...mmmmm, fake oil...

So, have you guys used BG MOA yet? If so, how did your vehicles run a day after it was added?

no body has said what this stuff is???what is it??

Someone posted it earlier. It's just something that is added while they are adding oil. All it does is keep everything nice and clean. Just think about the chevron with techron commercials on TV.
